名前: _____________________________ Conflict/Resolution Writing Project Write a paper that discusses how cultural differences could lead to conflict. The paper is to contain at least four paragraphs. The four paragraphs are to contain the following information: • Paragraph 1: Introduction of the topic. • Paragraph 2: Discuss how a specific cultural difference (between Japanese and American culture) could lead to conflict, using specific evidence, either from material we’ve covered this year, or from elsewhere. • Paragraph 3: Same as paragraph 2, except that you must discuss a different cultural difference. Only one paragraph may be devoted to evidence from the movie “Shogun”. • Paragraph 4: Discuss what you think would help prevent or resolve the kinds of conflict that could arise from cultural differences. Your paper must also meet the following requirements: • The paper must be at least one side of one page long (although longer is fine). • The paper must be written using the plain form. • You may not use the words あなた or なぜなら. • The paper must be handwritten on Japanese writing paper. The rough draft is due by the end of class on Tuesday, May 26th. The final draft is due on Tuesday, June 2nd. Remember, for papers that are significantly improved from last quarter, your entire group will receive extra credit. NOTE: The final will not be accepted unless you have proofread someone else’s paper.
