1. Discuss the physical and psychological principles as to why animation works, as well as how it is usually presented ?
Answer:• Animation is possible because of a biological phenomenon known as persistence of vision and a psychological phenomenon called phi. • With animation, a series of images are changed very slightly and very rapidly, one after the other, seemingly blending together into a visual illusion of movement. • Digital display video builds 24, 30, or 60 entire frames or pictures every second. Movies on film are typically shot at a shutter rate of 24 frames per second. 2. Briefly discuss the origins of cel animation and the concepts that go into creating these animations. Be sure to include keyframes, tweening, and inks ?
Answer:Cel animation is an animation technique made famous by Disney, uses a series of progressively different graphics on each frame of movie film, generally runs at 24 FPS. The term cel derives from the clear celluloid sheets that were used for drawing each frame. Cel animation begins with keyframes. Key-frames are the first and last frames of an action. The series of frames in between the keyframes are drawn in a process called tweening. Tweening is an action that requires calculating the number of frames between key-frames and the path the action takes, and then actually sketching with pencil the series of progressively different outlines. The penciled frames are assembled and then actually filmed as a pencil test to check smoothness, continuity, and timing. When the pencil frames are satisfactory, they are permanently inked and photocopied onto cels. Inks means special methods for computing color values, providing edge detection, and layering so that images can blend or otherwise mix their colors to produce special transparencies, inversions, and effects 3. You need to create a simple animation of an animated logo. the logo depicts a planet orbiting the sun. Describe the motion in a storyboard. List the points in the action that would make good keyframes, and explain why. How would you need to manipulate the planet to make its motion look natural?
Answer:-. We would need to create the key-frame when the earth is in-front of the sun. We can do this on flash. By making sun on a layer and on second layer we can create rotating path around the sun where the earth will rotate around the sun over a visible orbit line. Following is the procedure to create animation of a planet orbiting the sun: 1. Open file> select and enter an sun vector image. 2. Create a new layer > Draw an orbit line around the sun by using pen tool. 3. Create a new layer > Open File > Select and upload an earth vector image. 4. Place the earth at the center of the orbit line and create keyframe 1. 5. CUT the earth shape > Move to next point on the orbit line > keyframe insert > press F6 6. Do the same step 5 with points until the required motion is not achieved.
7. When finished, to see the results press Control + Enter Output as shown in figure.
4. You need to create a simple animation of a man bowling, with the ball rolling down the alley and striking the pins. Describe the sequence of motions in a storyboard. Discuss the various techniques and principles you might employ to accurately represent the motion of the man moving, the ball rolling, and the pins falling ?
Answer:Man’s arms, release, rolling and ball rotating, striking the pins and scattering them we would use Kinematics and Inverse Kinematics movement principals to make the correct movement of man bending, rolling ball towards pins and at last scattering of pins.
Storyboard of animated bowling is as follows: 1. Open file> New Layer 2. Draw a man using pencil tool. 3. Create Rectangle shape as a hallway shape and circle shape to be used as a bowling ball on the one hand of a man. 4. Insert the bowling picture pin to make the pin. 5. Click the keyframe insert in frame 1 and bend down the man with the ball> press 6. 6. Bring the ball circle to the front of hallway shape and insert a keyframe.
7. Rolling the ball toward the pin with the keyframes. 8. Rotate the pin first, then insert the keyframe > press f6 9. When the ball is going to hit pins insert keyframes, to make all pins will falling with ball_rolling. 5. Discuss where and how you might use animation in one of the following projects. Be creative. Where would animation be appropriate? Where would it be distracting? How could it best be used to visually illustrate a concept? Answer:Where would animation be appropriate
Animation can be placed on a web design display that will be made into an interactive, innovative, and even strong enough creativity. Where would Animation be distracting
Animation will appear to be annoying when in template placement which is not right and is not good for the eyes to see. How could Animation best be used to visually illustrate a concept
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Animation allows us to slide scales and bend the laws of nature. With animated videos, we are free to do whatever we want. It gives us the ability to bring any concept, no matter how complex. We can give context to our ideas. We can strike the right tone. We can visually present abstract ideas.
a. A web site for sports car enthusiasts.
Answer: The animation will look interesting on a sports car web site, where in the animation it appears a sports car movement and the wheels spinning on the car of the logo, that seems to look visually. b. A presentation to shareholders of a financial report.
Answer: Animation in a presentation on financial statements, financial report development charts and diagrams will appear seems to appear alive or visible visualization. When graphs are showed our each bar or section of the graph expand at rate so they hit their full amount at the same time and slide transitions. c. A training CD on a printing press.
Answer: Animation of printing machine training CDs printing machines that can move in real time, and can emit sound. d. A CD that depicts the history of a railroad
Answer: Highway history CD animation, the animation can be shown how to construct a highway.
