What is Uniform Server? • Is a WAMP (Windows/Apache/Mysql/Perl package) • Allows you to run a server on any MS Windows OS based computer • Is small to download and can be moved around easily • Can also be used or setup as a production/live server

Continued… • Comprises a pre-configured setup of complementary open source tools such as:  Apache HTTP Server,  MySQL database engine and, Scripting languages PhP and Perl • can be activated without any installation

• The package is under 5MB • Can also be set up on removable media for a portable web server • Is also designed for security, so is also used for actual websites

Continued… Now we will do a sample exercise to show how the uniform server works. Steps: • Get a UniServer3_3.exe • Extract it to the Desktop • From the folder, named Uniform Server, open the executable file, Server_Start.bat,

Continued… • Then an internet explorer opens a page with url: http://localhost/apanel/ • From the lists on the page click on: Restart services  Restart Apache2 service RunMysql - to run the mysql database server PhpMyAdmin - to work on your databases
