torrentflux-win: php torrent download manager ================================================================= torrentflux was writen by qrome (http://www.torrentflux.com/contact.php) mmaster23 ([email protected]) converted the scripts to run under windows. email mmaster23 with questions only about the windows version. use the forum located @ http://www.torrentflux.com/forum/ ================================================================= version: 1.3 for windows ================================================================= please read carefully the following instructions. if you do this, you will have your site up and running in just a few minutes. ----------------------------------------------------------------system requirements ------------------------------------------------------------------ a windows box (http://www.microsoft.com) installed and working properly. (tested on windows 2003 enterprise) -- apache web server (http://www.apache.org) (iis may not function properly) -- php version 4.1.x or better (http://www.php.net) -- mysql database server (http://www.mysql.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------installing torrentflux-win ----------------------------------------------------------------*** make sure the system requirements are met. 1. unzip the package into a directory of your web server. use for example winzip or winrar (www.rarlabs.com) 2. create a database and load the torrentflux.sql script. in cmd : mysqladmin create torrentflux or with phpmyadmin if installed "torrentflux.sql" contains the commands to build the table structure and the default data for the torrentflux. run the script on your torrentflux database. in cmd : mysql torrentflux < torrentflux.sql or run torrentflux.sql in phpmyadmin (www.phpmyadmin.net) 3. unpack the binaries.zip package to a directory outside or inside your webdir. make sure php can access it and has the right to exec. binaries there. (note: do not unpack "library.zip" wich resides inside binaries.zip)

4. edit 'config.php' for database settings and torrentflux file path. read through the config.php file, there are other options you must set. (eg the binaries dir) 5. important: the first time your access the site, you will be prompted for a user/password -- this is when you will set the super admin user and password by what you enter. so, for example, you pull the site up for the first time, you will be prompted to login and if you put in user: 'goomba' and password: 'iama' then your super admin user account will be set to goomba/iama -- cool? (you will be prompted twice the first time you access your torrentflux). enjoy! -- mmaster23 // torrentflux.com ----------------------------------------------------------------upgrading from previous versions of torrentflux-win ----------------------------------------------------------------important: remember to always backup your database before any upgrade -- just in case. also, starting with version 1.3 all new torrent downloads will go to a directory with the users name. so if you have torrents that where not finished before this upgrade, they will start over to the new location. 1. rename your config.php file to config.old.php or something like that so you can look at it for settings in the new config.php file. 2. copy all the new files over your old ones including the themes and subdirectories. 3. copy the new binaries from binaries.zip over your old ones. this is very important the binaries have changed. these are probably located in c:\downloads\ make sure the $cfg["btbindir"] variable in the config.php matches the path to this file. 4. edit the new config.php to contain the settings you want. 5. important: to upgrade a previous torrentflux installation to this new version you need to select the correct upgrade file from the upgrades directory. place the upgrade file in your web root with your config.php file and launch your web browser to that file: http://www.yourdomain.com/upgrade12-13.php all the database changes will be added and updated automatically without touching your old data. you should delete the upgrade php file after it has run and performed the upgrade. ----------------------------------------------------------------known issues
