Select the location to install the database server.

Once you have selected the path/location, click Ok to get this page.

MySQL ready to be installed with your settings. Click Install.

Final confirmation of installation. If you wish to configure, set the check box which says “Configure the MySQL server now”. Then click on Finish. You can uncheck the checkbox if you wish to configure later.

MySQL server configuration begins. (Only if checked the checkbox as in the previous slide.”

For home purpose select “standard configuration” and click “Next ”

Check the first option if you want MySQL to start automatically when you start windows. Check the second option if you wish to be able start MySQL from the dos prompt.

Here you have to enter the root password i.e., the password you wish to use to access the database. It is advised to check the first box and enter a secure password.

Click on “Execute” to let the configuration to be done using the options you specified earlier.

This is the last screen you will see after a successful installation and configuration. Click on “Finish”.
