HOW TO FLASH ROKR E2 1. First review the flash file. When you unzip the archive usually you will find only two files - one is .shx and one is .sbf file (some firmware came with .sbf file only). First you will flash the .shx and then you will flash the .sbf. 2. Turn off your phone. Press the Voice Key + Red Key. You will get the primary bootloader screen (Boot Loader 1/BL1). Now start hitting the voice key multiple times until the bootscreen text changes and you will see the secondary bootloader (BL2).
3. Connect your phone, open RSD Lite and flash your phone with the .shx file
4. After the flash is complete you can turn your phone into the primary bootloader (BL1) again (by removing the battery then insert it and turn it on) and then flash it with .sbf fileusing RSD lite. Here you may need to follow additional instructions from the firmware post itself (like replacing some .smg files during the flash). However that is optional. NOTE: -If your firmware came with only .sbf file, flash it when you are in the primary boot loader (BL1) -If your firmware came wth two files, .shx & .sbf, go to BL2 to flash your phone with .shx file, then you go back to BL1 to flash your phone with .sbf file.
HOW TO FLASH WITH SMG FILES 1: Open RSD Lite 2: Connect phone. If this is your first time, it will run through a ton of drivers, just direct them to the folder you extracted the drivers to 3: Flash phone. If this is a BP, then you need to first turn the phone into BP Pass through mode. 3a: Do this by Holding the voice key on the side of the phone and then pressing and holding the power key (simultaneously). You should see a red screen. Let go off the Voice key, but not the Power key. Now press the Voice key again (you may have to hold it again) Do this until the screen says "USB BP Pass Through Mode" 4: If you want to replace SMG's (Also known as the CG's or CodeGroups. 4a: Before you click 'Start', you must first open the folder containing the Flash File and in another folder the CG's or SMG's. 4b: Click 'Start' and keep checking the progress to see if it says 'Creating Image File 100%' 4c: When it says that, copy the CG's (SMG's) to the Flash Files' folder. NOTE: The files must be overwritten; They need to be named the same as the ones that you are replacing BEFORE you copy them to the Flash Files' folder. 4d: It will say flash fail (even if it's a success) However, it may fail otherwise. If it fails and says that there was a checksum error, then you are OK. But if it says anything else, you need to repeat until it says PASS or fails due to checksums.
EXAMPLE: HOW TO INSTALL LANGPACK 0021 WITH 43 P FIRMWARE - download FW 43p final, extract then rename it to 43p.sbf for flash with 43pCG41.smg - create flash folder in directory , for example C (C:\flash\) - create 43p final folder in flash (C:\flash\43p final\) - copy file 43p.sbf into 43p final folder - copy file 43pCG41.smg into flash folder - after that you flash file 43p.sbf by using RSD Lite - when RSD lite anounce "waiting for re-enumeration" you copy file 43pCG41.smg from flash folder into 43p final folder, chose overwrite and wait ..... - Now wait until the flash finishes. At the end you will see "Flash Failed". Unplug the phone, remove the battery, plug the battery back and start the phone. Note: -You must change the langpack’s file name to xxxxCG41.smg, xxxx represents the sbf's name.Example, if you want to flash with 45p.sbf, change the langpack’s name to 45pCG41.smg.
.sbf = AP = first bootloader .shx = BP = second bootloader
