HOM 203 September 28, 2006 -Dr Bakir will put up clue sheets. If you can’t wait, you can e-mail her. Software: -Mac Rep portion and Reference works (this is the material medica). Note: you can use any software, but this is the one she will teach us in school after doing research on the different softwares. A lot of the top-dog homeopaths use Mac Rep. There are training modules in the library for Radar program. Tool palette: -click on the book and the chapters will show up -ABCD – are the clipboards – you have to open them one at a time. This is where you add the rubrics for repertorization. -123456 – advanced clipboards for common themes. She does not use them often. -Patient file – general info, analysis and diagnosis, plan and prescription. -can click on different dates -Notes -“+ and –“ for adding rubrics and looking at which one’s are in common or not. -Big key at the bottom: you can click on which material medica you would like to use. Write it remedy and it will come up just like in the book. Book – chapters Example: We are in complete 2001 repertory.Rep book. NOTE: Synthesis Repertory is not in the program, so use Complete Repertory (this one is more thorough and big). But for doing the repertory practice sheets, we will be given the remedy according to the Synthesis (i.e. the repertory sheets are designed for Synthesis right now, but Sr Bakir will double check. She will design a more challenging exercise for people with computers). -open MIND (you can design what you want to see the way you want to see it. By clicking on “Rubrics” on top. I.e. you can click to “remove all remedies”. You can click to include all the “subrubrics”. Note: a plus sign will open up all the subrubrics. A star means remedy in the section. Click space bar on it will automatically show the remedies without the subrubrics. Star = subrubric within the subrubric etc. “Rubrics - Author numbers” = for reliability. Bottom button on left (book) – you can change which repertory you want to use.) -you can scroll down, or type in DELUSIONS -click on DELUSION (it will be up at the top of the page while you are in the subrubric section). -type MARRIED -click on MARRIED -subrubric is going to be… star = remedy, the number is bracket is the number of remedies. *you cannot save patient files in the computer in the library. You have to print them up. Good to keep paper file – especially if computer crashes.

CASE WITH 5 SYMPTOMS: Symptom 1 White discharge in nose: -NOSE -DISCHARGE -WHITE *open clipboard A – then drag rubric onto board or press ENTER Symptom 2 Chills up and down back: -CHILL -BEGINNING – take you to where it starts in the body. Always start with this. -SPINE -EXTENDING -UP AND DOWN no remedies in this chapter… got to (cross-referenced in): - there is a command to automatically get there but she’s not sure how to do that yet. So for now you have to start over. BACK, COLDNESS, chill, extending, back, up and down Symptom 3 Cough with tickle in the troat (notch) Cough, TICKLING from, throat in, throat-pit Whenever you see a symptom that’s a modality (something makes it worse or better) and you don’t see amel, it automatically means it aggravates. Cough; LYING down; amel/aggr Symptom 4 Cough worse from taling: Cough, TALKING, from Symptom 5 Cough; ROOM; agg; warm; going from, to cold air, or vice versa *You can drag the rubric from the clipboard back into the repertory. CLICK ON ANY ONE OF THE CHARTS FROM THE TOOL PALETTE TO PUT ALL THE RUBRICS TOGETHER. 1-roman letters 2-italic 3-bold 4-bold and underlined LIGHT BLUE – roman MEDIUM BLUE – italic DARK BLUE – bold BLACK – bold and underline

WHITE – no remedy When you use it, analyze by RUBRICS. The remedy that comes up with the most rubrics and the italic/bold representation. Go to material medica and read the remedies and figure out which one bests matches the patients case. So she would go through the first 8 remedies in the above case.
