FLSA Exempt Status Salary Exempt Hours Monday – Friday 8:00a.m. – 6:30p.m. Two days a week hours will be 12p.m.-9p.m.

Primary Purpose of Job: Employee is responsible for the development and implementation of the HIV/HEP C/ Substance Use prevention program. Employee is responsible for communication with the Federal Project Officer and community partners, developing and sustaining relationships in the community. Principle Duties & Responsibilities: • Work with the steering committee to successfully implement chosen model evidence based programs. • Oversee the implementation of the program and provide day to day supervision of program coordinator • Facilitate educational group sessions. • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the program participants, community based organizations, providers, local and state government agencies, and community representatives. • Consult with OMNI Research and Training to implement evaluation, follow up, and research strategies and ensure program quality. • Preparation of reports and presentations. • Represent Peer Assistance Services in professional meetings in the community • Ongoing review of curriculum to ensure cultural sensitivity and relevancy to the reentry population while maintaining fidelity to curriculum. • Communicate on a regular basis with federal project officer and steering committee members with information relevant to the project • Establish and maintain steering committee member involvement • Develop program sustainability efforts. Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Direct Reports: HIV / Hepatitis C Prevention Program Coordinator Job Specifications: Bachelor degree in Human/Behavioral Services, Criminal Justice, or related field. Must currently hold or be eligible for the following certifications: Certified Addictions Counselor, Level II. Group Facilitation experience required. Experience with Voices and Holistic Health Recovery Program. Two years of HIV or Substance Use prevention program experience preferred. HIV testing experience preferred. MS office proficiency required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional Characteristics: • Successful completion of a comprehensive background examination conducted by the Colorado Department of Corrections and Completion of the Colorado Department of Corrections Training Academy • Understands and supports the mission of Peer Assistance Services, Inc. and TASC • Recognizes obligation to confidentiality of program participants and records • Supports the disease precept of addiction • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with individuals • Has the ability to relate to diverse groups • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Peer Assistance Services staff, the Department of Corrections and other organizations in the community. • Ability to verbally present information in a public forum. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to normal office equipment with the risk of electric shock. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts such as copy machines, postage meters, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
