HANDLING & STORAGE CYLINDERS SAFETY  Be certain cylinders are properly labeled.  Secure cylinders properly when in storage and use.  Close valves and secure caps when not in use.  Strap cylinder to cart before transporting.  Do not roll or drop cylinders.  Always keep cylinders in well ventilated area.  Store flammable gases apart from oxygen.  Place cylinders where they will not be damaged by forklifts, knocked over or hit by falling objects.  Always keep cylinders vertical.  Keep cylinders away from heat, sparks, hot surfaces and on leveled floor.  Do not use any petroleum product to lubricate a gas cylinder.  Report any leakage and damage to your supervisor immediately.  Remember – NO SMOKING !
