INTRODUCING THE SONOCUSTOM™ A revolutionary custom-fitted, reusable earplug with a system that verifies the sound protection and provides a written report in minutes.
Sonomax Hearing Healthcare, based in Montreal Canada, is dedicated to preventing the incidence of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) by developing leading edge hearing protection products and by working to raise public awareness of the unacceptable toll NIHL has on family and industry alike. The answer is the Sonomax Solution™, a hearing protection system that combines a uniquely designed earpiece, the SonoCustom™, with an optimised proprietary hardware and software application, called SonoPass™. This application drives the fitting process, confirms the acoustic seal, calibrates the level of sound attenuation and records the results. This simple onthe-spot procedure allows an Implementer to deliver hearing protection that is custom-fitted to the user and functionally tested for reliability. The alarming increase in NIHL over the past three decades has occurred despite the aggressive introduction and mandatory use in many workplaces of various types of modern hearing protection devices (HPDs). Improper fit — Every person’s ear is different. Effective hearing protection requires an acoustic seal. Without it, noise leakage will compromise performance. Lack of comfort — HPDs can’t work if people don’t wear them or wear them properly. Workers need to communicate and hear warning signals — Even short periods with hearing protection removed for a conversation exposes the worker to the risk of NIHL. Over protection means the worker is isolated from important audio signals and messages. Lack of verification — A HPDs protection rating is assigned after a laboratory, objective test.
