PM Configurable Material BOM for Equipment Welcome, KP Consulting provides solutions to problems that you encounter along your projects. Let's not forget that the information is appreciated as it is shared. This presentation demonstrates the use of the variant configuration to create a configurable material with rules (object dependencies) to define the configurable BOM for the equipment. • Make sure that the material BOM header basic data 2 view is set as configurable material. • •

MM60 - Materials List MM02 – Change (Change material)

• You create the material BOM as usual with its spare parts, the configurable BOM would contains all the spare parts for the 3 models. In our example here, Z100A material is a common material/spare for all models. • •

CS01 – Create (Create material BOM) CS03 – Display (Display material BOM)

• You need to create a characteristic, in this case we use it to represent the equipment model. •

CT04 – Characteristics

• Then you create a class with class type (300) which is a variant class, assign it with the characteristics. •

Use the configuration profile to assign the variant class to the configurable material. •

Now, you assign the configurable material BOM header as the construction type in the technical object Z100 in this case •
