PROJECT: BTS BUS TRACKING USING GPS & GSM SYSTEM SOFTWARES USED: Embedded C, VB, Keil Demo Version With Simulator, Express PCB, Express Schematic. WORKING PRINCIPLE: This system uses GPS receiver/transmitter, GSM receiver/transmitter with a micro controller. The whole system is attached in the bus. In the other end (main BTS station) one GSM mobile phone is attached to the computer with VB application. Imagine the bus has left Bangalore at 6 o clock in the morning. If the officer in charge at the BTS bus station wants to know where this bus is, he will come to the computer and click on the bus number on the VB program .The VB program will send an SMS to the bus number. The SMS sent will come through the GSM service provider and then reach the bus which is traveling, because the bus has a GSM device with sim card. This GSM modem will receive the SMS and send to the microcontroller in the bus .The microcontroller will receive this SMS and compare the password and the command .If every thing matches then it will perform the request require by the office. Example: if the SMS was “9545 bus position”9545 is the password and bus position is the request .Then the microcontroller will connect to the GPS receiver and collect the latitude and the longititude of the current position. And then send this to the main bus station through the GSM modem as SMS A place name is assigned for each longitude & latitude. The GSM receiver in the BTS office receives these datas & gives to the PC through serial port. The VB program in the PC checks this data with its database & displays the details of the bus on the screen. Freq-1 to 18khz.Volt-5v-12vDC
