GEOFFREY M. BELLMAN Geoff worked inside major corporations for fourteen years before starting his own consulting firm in 1977. His external consulting has focused on renewing large, mature corporations such as Booz Allen & Hamilton, U.S. Bancorp, Verizon, Intuit, Ernst & Young, Shell, Price Waterhouse Coopers, BP, SABMiller, Boeing, and Accenture. He has written six books, with 300,000 in print and in a dozen languages: •Extraordinary Groups: How Ordinary Teams Achieve Amazing Results, (co-author, Kathleen Ryan) will be published by Jossey-Bass in September, 2009. •The Consultant's Calling: Bringing Who You Are to What You Do (Jossey-Bass, 20022nd edition). FORBES cited this book as among their most popular small business books. •Getting Things Done When You Are Not In Charge (Berrett-Koehler, 2001-2nd edition), a Fortune Executive Book Club selection. •The Beauty of The Beast: Breathing New Life into Organizations (Berrett-Koehler, 2000), about successfully living and working in large organizations. •Your Signature Path: Gaining New Perspectives on Life and Work (Berrett-Koehler, 1996) assists readers through significant life and career changes. •The Quest for Staff Leadership (Scott-Foresman, 1986), received the National Book Award from The Society for Human Resource Management. Geoff’s consulting and workshops have taken him to five continents. He has served as guest faculty for university graduate programs including Pepperdine University, Fielding, Sonoma State, Seattle University--OSR, Saybrook--LIOS, and Bowling Green. Linkage International’s “OD Lab for Experienced Practitioners” is designed around his experience and offered world-wide. Geoff recently received a national award from the Organization Development Network for his contributions to advancing the profession. And, he has also been honored by the Whidbey Institute for his work in the community. He is a charter member of the Woodlands Group which has been meeting quarterly for over thirty years, exploring individual, organizational, and societal change. Geoff and others founded The Community Consulting Partnership in 1996, an organization which teaches consulting skills and has given free consulting to seventy community-based organizations in Seattle. He regularly works with executive directors and boards including People for Puget Sound, The Center for Courage and Renewal, The Whidbey Institute, The Charlotte Martin Foundation, The Seattle Counseling Service, and The Cherokee Nation. Geoff grew up in Washington State, completed his undergraduate work at Gonzaga University and graduate work at the University of Oregon. For twenty years, he and his family followed work around the United States--to Denver, New Orleans, Tulsa, and Chicago. In 1981, they to returned to the Pacific Northwest. They live in sight of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains and are unlikely to ever move again.
