Concentrate and keep your mind focussed on what you are listening to Listen intently Get an overall view of the text – you do not need to understand or memorize every word When listening to oral text more than once:- Identify the main ideas the first time - Identify specific details, like numbers, names etc Lean and apply the right listening skills
