Experimenting with Motion Research question Using the 3rd law of motion, can a car go forward if you use a balloon full of air?
Materials
Balloon Hot wheel car Paper straw Scotch tape
Introduction In this experiment I will be testing the 3rd law of motion. For every action there will be an equal and opposite reaction. This balloon will be blown up and then let go and the car should go forward.
Hypothesis If I let go of the balloon, then the car will start to roll.
Procedure 1. Find a hot wheel car. 2. Get your balloon. 3. Find a paper straw. 4. Find a roll of scotch tape. 5. Put your straw in the balloon. 6. Tape around the balloon and the straw. 7. Tape straw to car. 8. Blow up balloon. 9. Bend straw backwards. 10. Release balloon. 11. Have fun ! ! ! ! ! !

Conclusion The purpose of this experiment was to learn more about how Newton’s laws of motion worked in this world. Also, to see what forces were necessary to all objects. My hypothesis was correct. According to my data, the car did move even though it was very little. In my data above, it shows that the car moved but it didn’t move very much. In my experiment I should have used a lighter weighted car so that it would move further. Something that I learned from this experiment was the anything uses force and motion. I also learned that anything can happen if we do or don’t use motion.
