how to format yer pc and start from scratch.(windows xp is recommended) step 001:back up your files,saves,passwords ect ect... step 002:reboot your computer and hit the setup button.(usually f1,f2,or del.) step 003:change the advanced bios features in the cmos so your pc will boot from the atapi cdrom. step 004:put your windows cd in the drive,now save and exit the cmos setup. step 005:watch the monitor until it mentions booting from the cd.with windows 2000/xp installations, you must press a key to select the boot from cd method within 10 seconds,95/98/me will bring up a list. step 006:once the windows installer is ready,select the proper method of install.here are the options: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(obviously,considering that we are here to format and start clean,we want the first option.) 01:to set up windows xp now, press enter. 02:to repair a windows xp installation using recovery console, press r. 03:to quit setup without installing windows xp, press f3. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------step 007:setup will now inform you that an existing windows xp installation exists,we are aware of that. you can either repair it or continue and install a fresh copy of xp.you definitley want to start fresh. step 008:windows will ask you to format the harddrive as ntfs and tells you which key to press.
