Next Generation Wireless Security (HSPA) Purpose 

To understand the nature, purpose and function of HSPA



HSPA is the latest mobile wireless technology which supports high speed data transfer for multimedia mobile users



To find out the quality of services provided by HSPA.

This project will educate general people about HSPA technology through posters and presentations in second life and wiki page. We followed Prince2 methodology to complete our project What is Prince2? PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a process-based method for effective project management. Why should we follow PRINCE2 methodologies? Prince2 certification will give you the skills to feel confident in managing projects successfully within the workforce.

We started our project on 16th of March with a first meeting. After that we conducted group meetings on every week and assigned tasks to our group members. For every week one member acted as a project manager to complete the week task, so that the manager takes the responsibility about the tasks to motivate the team members to complete the tasks on time. For educating the people about HSPA technology, we used two tools such as second life and wiki page.

HSPA IMPACT ON BUSINESS AND ON SOCIETY:

When HSPA was introduced, the network operators were very busy to invest in HSPA based 3G. Because it is used on the basis of the bandwidth for running the advanced applications with the mobile broadband at the same time as the data transmission rate is reduced for the mobile operators. Now a day’s a mobile users are in the multimedia environment. Because they may download audiovideo file, some e-mail attachment, also find out the road map, play online games with the higher resolution and the main thing is video conferencing, all these services are available because of HSPA. It is used to convert the complex application to simple one.

HSPA plays most significant role in the distance learning or in the education related field. Students learn a lot of things from their own state, for example some of students want to learn a technology which is being taught from UK, by using distance learning they can easily learn that technology related topic. So it is very beneficial for those students who did not accept the expenses. Such kind of learning is happening in every field; from medical to engineering field. We divided the team into four sub teams, the structure shown below: 

Documentation team

All these sub teams had a team leader who reported straight to the project manager about the progress of their team. And the project manager was responsible to co-ordinate the whole project by observing any issues and made changes to sub teams or issues according to the problem. Each team leader reported their task every week to the project manager. Then we discussed the risk factors involved in it and resolved the factors that influenced in that week. Any changes made here were done by the change management process.

Outcome of the Project As required by the board, the team was able to deliver the two deliverables that were expected from the team, on time. Alabama team successfully created a Second Life showcase and created a WIKI page to educate the general public about next generation wireless technology (HSPA). The deliverable products are described below:

Second life team built poster presentations in the area of university of Bedfordshire in second life shown below. It contains a tailor made presentation regarding HSPA, note cards and link to the final report

Wiki Page

Wiki team created the wiki page where we updated the data, these resources available to the users to check latest information on it for further references. The page has lots of information regarding HSPA. There are also some diagrams for general public to easily understand the concept.

Conclusion: By doing this project, members learnt various aspects of PRINCE2 by gaining practical knowledge. This will help the team in future to conduct a successful project. Working as a team to achieve any specific target is not an easy job. And that is why every group member should work as a team to achieve a target. PRINCE2 works in a co-ordinated way where every stage is controlled and without finishing one stage the team can not precede further. This powerful technique gave the users; the ability to have a control over their project and hopefully this will be very helpful for everyone when they go in a professional field.
