Future Business Leaders of America Meeting Minutes [email protected] “Simply the Best” September 15, 2009 7:10am and 2:45pm Meeting Called to Order FBLA Briefly Introduced • FBLA-PBL is the world's premier student business association. Our mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Committees Explained • Members can sign up to be a part of various committees to get more involved. Anyone interested in joining the officer team as a committee leader is asked to set up an interview time with the officers before October 1st. • Information on the current committees can be found on the board. • People are needed to help with the Homecoming Wall (9/27 – 10/1) before/after school and during enrichment. If interested, there will be a brainstorming meeting Friday, Sept. 25th during enrichment in Rm 114. FBLA’s theme is the Golden Nugget. Fall Workshop Promoted • On October 24th from 7:30am-12pm, FBLA will be attending a Fall Workshop at Hightower High School where members will hear from guest speakers and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of seminars. Workshops are a great way to meet people and learn insider tips and secrets in a variety of work fields. • A $12 registration fee is due by October 15th to Rm 114. “Riesen to the top” Raffle Cookies Passed Out (Afternoon Only) Guest Speaker Introduced (Afternoon Only) • Brennan Foo, National FBLA Mountain Plains Region VP, discussed how/why to get more involved in FBLA at a National level introducing a variety of programs such as the “Go Green” Project, the Government Awareness Project, and Business Achievement Awards. How to Join FBLA • Blue applications along with $25 membership fee ($35 with a Tshirt) due by October 30, 2009. • Applications may be picked up or turned in to Rm 114 or one of the officers.

• Unless otherwise noted, meetings will be held the third Tuesday of every month. • Attend the next meeting with all of your friends on October 20, 2009 in Rm 114. Meeting Adjourned
