MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY- CODE E910100B- Common medical terminology is a critical part of the language used by health care practitioners. It is essentially a vocabulary that requires a uniform pronunciation, definition, and spelling of terms used by professionals. Individuals with medical terminology training are capable of analyzing and interpreting medical reports related to specific body systems. This program is appropriate for adults looking to learn new job skills, refresh or refine existing healthcare knowledge, or improve occupational performance by possessing a better understanding of medical terms. This course is a prerequisite to the Medical Transcription course. This is an intensive course with frequent testing. Successful completion is required before admission to Medical Transcription. Do you work with limited English individuals who are looking to communicate better at the workplace? Our Adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program is the right place for them!

Students can register and start classes almost every week. Classes are held Monday through Thursday 6-8:30 p.m. Classes are funded by Florida’s Division of Workplace Education and are offered at no cost to the students.

GED TEST The GED (General Educational Development) test is a battery of five tests designed to measure the major concepts generally associated with four years of high school education. Successful completion of the GED test will earn you a STATE OF FLORIDA HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, which could open doors to home ownership, jobs, promotions, college and many other opportunities. Persons who are planning to take the GED tests must register and pay the following test fee prior to the testing date: $75 for the complete test; $15 for each individual test.
