n the 14th day of November, we had a seminar about the Sustainable Development and Technology which provides us an idea about the different ways to utilize the technology in a sustainable development. During the seminar, our speaker gave us a glimpse about the understanding the concept of sustainable development. "The sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" by the definition of The World Commission on Environment and Development (1987). The technological change is a globalization that conceived a development globally. At first the speaker provides information about the intensive use of energy of different countries. The massive population growth has a connection in the sustainable development. Many developing countries and countries with economies in transition are facing major development obstacles which are difficult and increasingly to improve the quality of life of their people in a sustainable manner. The speaker gave an example that it's also part of the increase in population. One of these are the t'boli community and other tribes. Since, some of tribes are not aware of the family planning and also their culture has an effect in the massive population. The Sustainable Development has an biblical definition which it says that "be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue" genesis 1: 28, most of the people are just literally pick up some words that aligned with their applicable own perception and just like in the biblical definition of SD, they are just do the multiply but never replenish nor subdue. The SGD is the No Poverty which has an indicator of risk poverty and social exclusion. I learned that a sustainable community should be a democratic and empower it's residents to be engaged in life of the community. To know that if it's a sustainable community there are such circumstances that are experienced, the harmony with the natural environment which an integral part of, the elimination of the air and water pollution. A steward of the land and natural resources and not just a consumer, the transportation which is effectively and efficiently meets its needs. It also emphasis during the seminar that there would be a natural hazard but it is a part of the natural environment. Maybe, the fact of the natural hazards cannot be changed, but the built environment can. We can be an effect of change by starting the change in ourselves by the "LEAD" which L stands for Leadership and Paradigm, E stands for Engagement of Ecosystem , A stands for Advertisement/Social Media and lastly the D stands for Designs of Infrastructure. On earth, we are not just here to consume but rather have a purpose to be a living system which one of us are part of.
