First of all, this an important topic because it has a strong relationship with our past and present. Even though we are a mixture of Spanish and Mexican (Aztecs, Mayas, etc), even though we share the same religion, the same language, and a similar culture, we have to know that Spanish conquistadores didn’t come to Aztec fields in a friendly mood or looking for friends and peace, the came here in searching of resources trying to made their empire bigger than others. Secondly, they came here to rob our gold, our silver, our culture, etc. We were enslaved by them, they tried to educate our ancestors even they were sons of gods, or as an example, Mayas were a native group that was very good at maths and astronomy, I do not think they came here to give them knowledge. People can say that Spanish Conquerors gave us some positive things as language, religion, morals, ethics, etc, but we have to remember that they came to our ancestor's fields with illnesses, with plagues, we have some “important things” but what was the cost of them? Following this idea, I do not believe that demanding an apology is madness, I really believe it is well, and also our government have the obligation to give an apology to native groups too. Adding, if someone believes it’s a joke to demand an apology, they have to see some similar situations that have happened around the world, as an example, I can enunciate the apology from the prime minister of Japan to Chinese people for the devastation at the second world war. Also, we have the example of the president of Germany that gave his apologies to Holocaust victims, he knew that Nazis made a big crime killing Jewish people. We can give a lot of similar examples related to this situation but as a conclusion, I really believe that they have to apologize with Mexicans, and also apologies have to go only for native groups that have been separated since the conquest, this apology can change the present and also the future of this kind of natives grups because all the world will pay attention on them.
