An old diary entry was found and submitted to our office for some research. After few days of interpreting and analyzing the text, it was a diary entry about the effect of the book Noli Me Tangere to a dependent man named Benigno who was raised in a family of pro-Spaniards. After reading the book he was enlightened of what was truly happening to the society. He then wrote all the chaotic things that he found out when he stepped out of his usual zone. After reading Benigno's diary entry I have fathomed that if I were him I would've done the same thing... to step out of my family's care even if it meant the uncertainty of my life. They say experience is the best teacher, maybe that is why Benigno did those actions after reading the novel. What is the point of living life if you yourself is not aware of what is truly happening around you. I wouldn't pretend that I'm still a pro-Spaniard after finding out those wrong and misleading leadership of the Spaniards. I would be blunt and encourage my family too to open their eyes. The Spaniards leadership is not ideal, it is not the type of governance that will lead us to progression. A government that is ruled with tyranny within the Spaniards hands is a government that will easily fall down for the foundation is weak and filled with fear rather than respect. Because if we want to achieve and live in a free society, an individual must not speak in timorous whisper or bated breath but with the clear voice of unafraid. And that was missing during the governance of the Spaniards in Noli Me Tangere. People's voice was not heard or more likely, no one wanted to hear their voice. Looking closely upon Benigno's diary entry, it is just a speck or piece of example that Noli Me Tangere really did make a huge impact during that era and up to now.
