The Elevator Pitch

The Platform / Template My company / idea / product, [ company name / idea name / product name ] , is developing, [ a defined offering ] to help, [target market/customer] [ problem(s) to solve ]

[ the secret sauce ]

The opening line to every pitch • How to get in to the conversation  Do it naturally  Find the best moment

• Started with self (team) introduction • Greetings ...  Good morning, good evening, ...  Assalamualaikum, shaloom, ...  etc. ...

The Offering • Be Specific  Example: a social utility vs an e-commerce website  Which social utilities  be specific • Avoid Buzzwords (specific keywords)  Example: Mobile social CRM vs an iPhone application • Eliminate Bombastic words  Example: a revolutionary service vs back-end software

The Target Market / Customer • Identify The Demographics  Example: the baby or kids gears (clothing, etc.)  The baby or kids vs the mothers  Which is the customers?

• Specify Your Target Market / Customer Example: young female customers vs new mothers • Clarify The Buyer / User  Example: large businesses vs expatriates; medium businesses vs young executives or professionals

The Problem(s) • Make it sure that everybody can understand the

offering. • Specified the problems from the target market or

customer pain(s) • Or listed the problems of customer(s) to solve • The best clue: creating and selecting words that is

able for others to “see” the (viable) revenue model  Example: find good deals online vs shop for baby

products at wholesale prices

The Secret Sauce • It is not the secret recipe • It is only a (small) portion of the menu of your

idea/product. (Not showing the exactly detail of the process to make the product) • Explain clearly what makes your business unique

or different (the competitive or comparative advantage(s))  Example: faster vs with automated ordering system for

baby gears / kids products
