Egyptian medicine By Sonia Athi
The Nile theory • The Egyptians believed that the body consisted of channels in which blood carried energy through like water in the Nile. • The Egyptians also thought that food could block the channels.
Gods on Medicine • They also thought that the gods controlled illnesses and they often prayed to be healed. • Priests would cleanse the ill and ward away evil spirits.
Developments in Medicine • Papyrus was the first form of paper which meant that the Egyptians could record their medical findings. • The Egyptians traded with other countries quite often so they had a range of herbs and remedies for healing.
