Dy l a n Jo h n Maz zi o t t i Huma n i t i e s Cu l t u r a l Ac t iv i t y #2 "U2 & Bla c k - Eyed Peas" This past weekend on October 23rd, I went to a concert with my wife in Las Vegas, Nevada to see "U2", with their opening act the "Black- Eyed Peas." I took place at University Of Nevada, Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium.

The Black- Eyed Peas is a hip- hop group based out of Los Angeles, California. The group consists of will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie. U2 formed in 1976 in Dublin, Ireland. They met at secondary school when they had limited musical abilities, but by the mid- 1980s, they were a top international act. Additionally, U2 has 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band. The band consists of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr.

We arrived at the stadium and got into the general admission line outside of the stadium, that went on for quite a bit. About a half hour later, the line moved inward toward the venue. Once inside, we all took a personal moment and beveraged up. Shortly there after, we moved down to ground level where we position ourselves about 10- 15 away from an outer ring of the stage. The was supposed to start at 7:00pm but set up for the Black- Eyed peas took nearly 40 minutes past that. Black- Eyed Peas got the audience jumping and rocking for a solid hour. Shortly after 9pm, U2 came on stage with David Bowie's "Ground Control To Major Tom" setting a tone for a mystical journey. For the next two and half hours, U2 played numerous songs from their extensive catalog. They played to encores. It was amazing.
