Introduction
One of the oldest nations of the world is France, official name République Française (French republic) is one of the leading countries within the European continent. In addition, France is the most visited country of the globe, attracting millions of tourists annually. France boasts of art and architecture, which dates back to pre- medieval times in 5th century A.D., also of its diversity and 4,668 feet of lavish coastline.
Attractions and destinations within France are abundant and welcoming to tourists of any age, from any country. Pristine beaches, majestic mountains, world renowned cuisine and wine, it is a vacationers paradise! With so much to enjoy in this beautiful country, tourists and locals alike, are presented with unlimited activities, for their enjoyment and entertainment, in this country’s’ peaceful atmosphere.
France has, for the most part, a moderate climate, with mild winters (the mountain areas and the northeast, however, tend to be bitter cold in the winter months, with a steady amount of frost and snowfall).Many people enjoy the numerous winter sports found in the Northeast and mountain areas. Others enjoy the outdoor activities of the warm and sunny south.
The cuisine of France is renowned worldwide. From French coffee to French pastries, France presents the most delectable and desired foods to locals and visitors, with a wide selection to satisfy any palette. Culturally, each region of France has its own traditional dishes. France is also traditionally known for its many varieties of wine (France is also the largest manufacturing country of wines.) and cheeses. (An estimated 300 to 400 cheese varieties) The French use wine often and oftentimes use cheeses as ingredients in entrees or as a side dish or h’orderve.

The national language of France is, naturally, French, but English is widely spoken and understood. The currency of France is called the Euro. Until 1999 the currency was the franc, now predominately a currency of French terroritories, such as French Polynesia.
Many fascinating pieces artists and authors come from France. Such as the Baroque painter, Claude Deruet, a 17th century Renaissance artist or Dutch born Vincent Van Gogh a renowned impressionist artist. As for literary works, perhaps the most famous of French authors is Gaston Leroux who wrote the infamous novel ‘Le Fantôme de l'Opéra’ (The phantom of the opera) which has been rewritten for theater and stage performances around the world. Born in Paris, Author Charles Perrault also called France home, before his death in 1703. Mr. Perrault is the ‘father’ of the fairy tale, after having authored the series of children’s’ fairy tales, ‘Mother goose’ and continuing to write additional children’s stories after the success of ‘Mother Goose’.
More than a lavish tourist destination, France offers its’ annual crowds of visitors its’ culture, luxury, comfort and one-of-a-kind hospitality. Approximately 64,102,140 people are living in France, causing the amount of restaurants, hotels, and spas to explode with luxury. Locating a high class restaurant, a quaint sidewalk
café or amazing night clubs, is not hard to do in France. Most of the larger cities in France have had population explosions within the last 50 to 60 years and therefore finding the source of your entertainment, be it magnificent French cuisine or that famous cup f coffee you heard of, will be easily spotted in any major city of France.
