Durga, Pune Even though she's not the new chilli masala of the college, Durga's got people swooooooning over her cold... ummmm... cold coffee. (lest you think something else!). CCD and Barista in Pune sure have tough competition. Not one of those khopcha places, Durga, a joint on the Paud Road, Kothrud, Pune is famous for its cold coffee (Rs 8) along with a range of other items. The best includes anda burjee (single Rs.10 and double Rs.15) and Misal Pav (Rs.13) all through the day till late in the night along with the regular masala pav, pav bhaaji, pulaav, etc. Of course, the morning too has takers flocking in there for a quick kaande pohe, upma or the yummy sabudana khichdi before rushing off to college. The hot espresso and tea are as popular and mouth-smacking. With the MIT engineering college just opposite the road where engineering bugs lie till late in the night, Durga is the perfect hangout for a break. In the evenings even old uncles and aunties have been spotted nibbling away at Durga. Service is good, but yes, you have to wait for a place many a times. There are parking problems too but then wohi to mazza hai, is what the gang thinks. Finding a place, ogling at that 'naveen porgi’, and lapping up the coffee - it's a buzzing-villa. You have to try the place to actually feel its vibrant atmosphere. Paise ke terms mein Durga will surely NOT burn a hole in your pocket. Overall two normal people should get a full (and satisfied) meal within 50 rupees (Haan, do ke liye. Ain't it great?)
