DREAM TEST: My daily reading of the most wonderful and inspiring achievement ezime gave me the opportunity to know and participate in this dream test. I count myself privileged at least to share my dream to the matured minds and not with opportunist. This dream if achieved will make a very great impact in my life and the life of people within and outside my locality and also a centre of attraction. MY DREAM: TO BUILD A ONE HUNDRED CAPACITY SPORTS VIEWING CENTRE IN MY LOCALITY WITH MINI BAR AND SUYA SPOT (spot for roasting of beef.) THIS I HOPE TO ACHIEVE BY THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE BY THE GRACE OF GOD. ABOUT ME! I am Victor Nwosu Uwandu, one of the subscriber’s of the great inspiring news letter. Where I got to know about this contest. I hail from Umuerim Avor Ntigha in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area - Abia State in Nigeria. I am a man of 36 years old, married newly to my wife Linda a nurse by profession in Dallas USA. We are yet to come together because the papers she filed have not come out for my interview. Hopefully by July all will be through.

WHY SPORTS VIEWING CENTRE? There is a high rise of interest in football in my locality, which drive people daily to a place where they can sit down to watch matches whether Premiership, European League, Local league etc and to relax to catch fun. Before now, people’s interest in football especially in my locality is limited to world cup when Nigeria will be playing with another country. But today, the interest has cut across world cup to anything so far it is soccer. People are fans to foreign teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottleham, Fullham etc. They will gather to stake money on the opponent fans to predict who will win or loose. This is one of the things that draw them together. Two months ago, as I traveled to the village. I saw a place where people are crowded. The few seats available have been occupied while many sat on the floor, and the rest are standing, young, old, big and small in fact there is no age bracket. As I made inquiry of what is happening, I was told that Chelsea and Manchester United is playing game that day. I could not believe that people interest in football has risen to such extent in a local village like mine. I began to wonder, if people can suffer themselves to stay in such uncomfortable environment without seat with a 14inch television to watch game, if I can open a comfortable affordable viewing centre within the locality, it will be like heaven to them. In fact I can see them celebrate me if I do that.

The amazing thing is that the place has no environment to accommodate the number of fans that visit them. No accommodation, no seat, nothing to interest people except the game and drink but the drinks are not cooled because he is just using a small generator. Many can stand up for ninety minutes of the game without complain. And this is a daily routine as far as there is game going on, people must gather. Another discovery was that it is not only the people around the environment that comes there but also people from far places within the near by communities. Not really that they don’t have TV or Digital Satellite receiver in there houses, but all the wanted is a public place where they can share opinions together, predict matches, drink together and so on. I came around there the next day to see what the owner of the joint put in place to attract this crowd, I saw there was nothing much interesting, just that he have a small gasoline generator, and a Digital Satellite receiver, where he gets network of foreign free on Air TV channels and Sports stations. I made enquiry on how much he charge them per game or for the whole day, I was surprise to hear that they don’t pay just that they make daily contribution to buy fuel for the generator and only that he uses the opportunity to sell his drinks. What a waste of opportunity. That contribution they make ranges from two hundred to five hundred Naira according to people’s level though not every one contribute.

WHY THE BUSINESS IN THE REMOTE VILLAGE? Well, one thing is to see opportunity and another thing is to cease the opportunity. There are places in the city where you can get this kind of viewing centre. Some have over three hundred capacity hall, some are in hotel environment, restaurant and so on but no body have taken such business into those remote villages and that is where the opportunity lies. As If I get one functioning, I hope to take the business round Nigeria in those remote villages. Avor (my community) is a community made up of 4 kindred, the nearby communities includes, Amapu, Umuogele, and Eziama. There is no time you come to watch football that place that you will not see many from all these communities above. That is because there is no good public places to watch game. If you want to watch in your house, N1000.00 fuel cannot be enough for you in a day, but with less than N500.00, you have watched marches for the whole day. All these communities around my locality do not have constant electric power supply and it will be cheaper for people to come to a public place and pay little to watch football than buy fuel for every match to watch in their houses. On that note and discovery, I came with a dream to open a standard viewing centre where local and international matches can be watched 24 hrs live with a projector to shoot the image to the wall as if the person is right there at the field.

THE REQUIRMENTS: 1.

LAND: My estimated space for this project is one and half plots of land. It is a place where I will build the structure for the centre. As I say earlier it is estimated to be 100 sitters’ structures. Land is still at a cheap rate there, because of low level of development in the locality

2. PROJECTOR: This will be connected directly to the digital video

broadcasting decoder to transmit to the front end of the wall or board as the case may be. It will be painted white for a clear view. 3. RECEIVER: The common receiver people use around is STRONG. It is a

Digital Satellite receiver which can receive more than 15 foreign channels or stations. 4. BAR: Bar section will major on selling of drinks. At least there will be

two dip freezers in place for cooling the drinks, waters, juice and other things. 5. SUYA SPOT: This will be roasting spot. A spot for roasting of fish, beef

and chicken. People will enjoy it as they watch football. 6. AIR CONDITIONS: The centre will have at least two split unit air

condition to cool the place for comfortability. 7. STANDBY GENERATOR: without this, the business is in vain. There will

be a power in place, strong enough to power everything.

8. CHAIRS: It is going to be a plastic chairs. As estimated, there will be

100 plastic seats and extra 10 for workers. There is going to be small plastic tables around up to 20 pieces. BASIC ESTIMATIONS: 1.

N1, 389, 000.00 (One million, three hundred and eighty nine thousand naira) ADMITANCE TO THE VIEWING CENTRE. There will be different color tags, a particular tag will be issue on a particular march to people when they pay for ticket. This will serve as identification for entrance or clearance card. ENTRANCE FEE: I discovered that people were paying N200 – N500 willingly without compulsion at that particular joint, I have to consider N200 flat rate for VIP. And when the seats are filled up, whoever wishes to stand can pay between N50 -N100. But somebody can also pay N500 to have a whole day entrance at his convenience. WHY DO I THINK THIS IS A REAL BUSINES? Because game does not have a season any more like before, it is almost a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly affair. With the estimated 100 sitter hall, this means that the business will be making at least N20, 000.00 (Twenty thousand Naira) in each game if the seats is to be filled up. But if we feel we are exaggerating, and use 50 people per march daily, this means that the business will make N10,000.00 each game on only ticket, multiplied by 30days equals to

N300,000.00 (three hundred thousand naira) And if upto 3 marches are played in a day, we can be sure of making 3 times this estimate. This is real business. It is certain that in less than three months, the business has paid back the invested fund while we start looking for another place to open another one. CONCLUSION: This is a cool and realistic project. I just hope I meet the requirement and that those outside the United States are included in the test. Even though I still have other dreams and projects in mind, but this one is first in line up while still work on others which have longer term plan. I have to involve myself as Stephen Covey said "Without involvement, there is no commitment. Mark it down, asterisk it, circle it, underline it. No involvement, no commitment." So help me God.
