Its time for those who profess Christ to awaketo righteousness and holiness . All Awake! sin and Worldliness must be conquered in your life. This can only be done through faith and total () commitment to God through Christ Jesus! Only God can keep you in this time!

Many suppose that little white spots on a soile d garment are good enough – there will be much weeping! Time to get

serious! 3

Revelation 22:14, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” All things will be restored as they were in the beginning for those who obey God. To understand the end you must start at the beginning.

Why was man created?

Its all about God – not

Revelation 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for you! thy pleasure they are and were created.”

The command (condition):

Not difficult to

Genesis 2:16-17, “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt comply with not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

The temptation:

A trial to determine devotion

Genesis 3:1-5, “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said

unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and .” Notice: The devicalled God a liar. Satan’s – That you can Sin/ Disobey/ to what God said. The devitold them they Rebel against l God and still live, contrary Lie could determine right and wrong for themselves, apart from God (make l their own decisions). They could decide their own fate – to be as Gods. Live for themselves! James 1:13-15, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and entice. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth deat .” Those that defend sin and d the devil’s purposes! h The violation: darkness are furthering Genesis 3:6, “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was

, and a tree desired to wise , she took of the fruit thereof, and did iteat, andbasis gaveofalso husband with her; and he did eat.” There you have – the all unto sin –her (selfishness), the desire/act to exert your will SELF over God’s. We are to conform to God’s will in Do you seek your way?

perfect obedience!

The Excuse:

Matthew 6:10

God asked Adam why he

Genesis 3:12, “And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.” disobeyed. Adam blamed Eve although he clearly knew the commandment. At the judgment, many will be shifting blame – My pastor said, everybody did it, the church said, etc.

The Penalty:

Study the Bible! The truth will set you free

There were several penalties associated with man’s rebellion, namely separation from God and death (no more access to the tree of life). Unforgiven sin = eternal separation! Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquitie have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, s that he will not hear.” Turn from your sins! Genesis 3:22, 24, “And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” Man could not be allowed to live eternally in this fallen sinful disobedient rebellious state. You read at the start of this pamphlet that those who obey God (through Jesus Christ) will be restored to the tree of life in the end (reconciled to god – Only through Christ).

The effects of disobedience (living your will!) Eve bare Cain and then Abel. These two later offered sacrifices to God from their labors. Abel’s was more acceptable (Hebrews 11:4) than Cain’s (Cain’s works were evil – 1 John 3:12). Genesis 4:8, “And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.” Cain murdered his brother out of jealousy (self-centeredness). Abel’s heart was right before Man’s disobedience and desire to live his will God! apart from God’s quickly produced all manner of sin such as: Foul language, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, lying, homosexuality/perversions, covetousness, maliciousness, deceit, insolence, rebellion, disobedience to parents, gambling, spite, pride/arrogance, wickedness, gossip, boasting, blasphemy, false accusers, incontinence, unthankfulness, gluttony, mischief, scheming, selfishness, traitors, unmerciful, lovers of selves, etc. The fruit of wickedness All these evilsresult from man’s desire to put his will (self) above God and that of his neighbor. This is why Jesus referred to the two great commandments as loving God and loving your neighbor. These two commandments contained the original ten commandments.

The Greatest Commandment:

Dealing with your relationship to God Mark 12:29-30, “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart , and with all thy soul , and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength : this is the first commandment.” Thou shalt have no other gods before me (television, money,

Exodus 20!

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it possessions, loved ones, etc.)

Thou shalt not make unto thee any gravenholy. image.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy

with your relationship to others The second is likeGod it! Dealing in vain. Mark 12:31, “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

There is none other commandment greater than these.” Thou shalt not commit Honour thy f ather and thy Thou shalt not Thou shalt not kill. adultery. Thou shalt not Thou shalt not bear false witness mother steal.against thy Matthew say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall covet5:18, “For verily Ineighbour. in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Written in stone! Luke 16:17, “And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.”

9

A higher standard: Followers of Christ are to comply with the spirit of the law. In many cases this is a higher standard than the letter of the law. Written in the heart! Matthew 5:27-28, “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath Examples committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:21-22, “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” What you put into your heart is what you are! 2 Thessalonians 2:12, “That they all might be damne who believed not the truth, but had Satan’s lie: You can sin and pleasurein unrighteousness.” (Also read d Romans 1:24-32) not die. Those who Follow (not just profess) Christ cannot take pleasure in the very sins that nailed Jesus to the cross. No one who is dead to sin (Romans 6:2.11) can take pleasure in it.

Some folks need to do some serious re-evaluation of what they put into their heart (television, radio, types of music, magazines, jokes, etc.)!

10

God Judges Sin! Examples that the wise will consider

God judged the heavens: 2 Peter 2:4, “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;”

God Judged the Pre-Flood World:

Sin always brings death!

Genesis 6:5-7, “And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”

They could have 2 Peter 2:5, “And spared not the old world, but saved Noah repented – but didn’t!the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the of the ungodly;” They wouldn’t repent! The whole world was flood upon the worldSin bringeth forth death The whole world will be judged again! destroyed! James 1:15 Matthew 24:37, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” People will be mostly wicked and unrepentant. Even as God brings horrible judgments upon the world, men will not repent of their deeds (Revelation 9:20-21; 16:9,11)

11

God Judged Cities:

12

It’s Amazing Many religious who “profess” Jesus will say that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is a covering for unforsaken sinfulness. They’ll tell you that God’s grace covers their ongoing wickedness. Do you really think that the Lord God Almighty would send His Son Jesus down to this earth to endure the suffering and death on the cross so that you could be justified to live in continued sinfulness, the very thing that God hates? God is not mocked!

Genesis 18:20 Just like today! Their sin is very Genesis 13:13, “But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.” grievous! Genesis 19:24, “Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;” An example for us! Beware, Beware! 2 Peter 2:6, “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;” (also Jude 1:7) Jesus said:Luke 10:12, “But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.” – Referring to unrepentant cities of His time. God Judged 7 Nations: Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, In the Promised Land and the Jebusites. Israel (God’s instrument of judgment) was told to utterly destroy them (Deuteronomy 20:17) and not to do according to their abominations. Deuteronomy 9:4, “Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.” They committed every abomination including killing their children (abortion?) Deuteronomy 12:31 The Warning: Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them

The finished work of Christ is not a license to sin!

Is God divided?

You’ll reap what you sow Galatians 6:7

Mark 3:24, “And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Matthew 12:25, “And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”God is not divided over sin or anything else! Jesus said: John 10:30, “I and my Father are one.” Also, John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Sin sacrifices were always for existing violations of God’s law to appease an offended righteous God, never for violations that had yet to be committed. Sacrifices never allowed one to continue sinning (did not provide a covering for evil and wickedness). There is forgiveness for confessed sin (1 John 1:9) due to God’s mercy, but NO justification to live wickedly.

13

Lying: Most do not consider lying to be a very serious matter. Most practice it much more than they may consciously realize. But… How does God view lying (a simple fib, misleading others, white lie, don’t want to hurt their feelings, etc.): Proverbs 12:22, “ Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.” ABOMINA'TION - Extreme hatred; detestation.

Proverbs 6:16-19, “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” 1 Timothy 1:9-10, “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the

Those that trivialize lying are just defending their father – the DevilAnd . wickedne their John 8:44, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He ss was a own

murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Jesus said it! No such thing as an Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all have their part in the lake innocent lie! liars, shall which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation Perhaps you do not believe that a lie will put you into hell? Then you21:27 would be calling God a What’s to become of the liars?

liar (as the Devil did, Genesis Chapter 3) – and that would be another lie against you!

Please…

Do not suppose that Jesus’ great sacrifice on the cross allows you to continue in wicked abominations that God hates (Jesus being God). Jesus came to deliver you from your sins not to allow you to be justified in your wickedness. Proverbs 4:19 1 John 3:8, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

15

Justifying the wicked

Good is evil and evil is good?

John 3:19-21, “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darknessrather than light , because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light , neither cometh to the light , lest his deeds should be

reproved.

darkness Your life should be going toward the Light where there is no evil (sin) or wickedness. If you are comfortable in sin (no matter how little) then you love the darkness and hate the light. Many religious people and institutions will tell you that you do not have to come to the light. They will say that you cannot live without sin in your life. Beware! These will lead you further into the darkness (or keep you there). They justify the wicked (sin, worldliness, evil). If you desire to live fully for God you may be told you are trying to earn your way into heaven. Proverbs 17:15, “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.” You cannot believe on Christ and remain in sin

16

Many religious will tell you that once saved (by their definition – perhaps a short repeated prayer), that salvation cannot be lost no matter what darkness you allow/want in your life. They will say you cannot out sin God. Some call this eternal security or once saved always saved. Isaiah 5:20, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for ; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” light , and light for darkness

If you think sin is excusable then They justify the have you misunderstood why Christ 1 John 1:6-7, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness , we lie , came wicked ! and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light , as he is in the light , we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all si .” Have you been given God’s grace to overcome sin? Do you even have a desire to overcome n the sin in your life? God does not excuse or overlook/ignore sin!

Most understand that God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us (John 3:16) – but then they quickly lose sight of why He came. Jesus came because of our sinfulness! God does not excuse sin! A price had to be paid – sin would not be overlooked! That price was very great. Jesus Christ paid the price that we could not. Is it precious to

19

As discussed earlier Jesus’ message to the churches was to repent and overcome – for He is coming for a glorious bride without spot, wrinkle or blemish. Jesus is certainly not coming for an adulterous harlot (soiled with sin & worldliness). John 8:34, “Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”

The Great Tribulation: It’s coming

Is Christ or sin your Lord?

The great tribulation is going to SOON! force lukewarm believers to make a choice – to choose whom they will serve. A choice for God will no doubt bring persecution (and possibly death). Revelation 13:15-17, “And he (religious figure) had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” After all, money is the root of all evil – A choice will be forced To choose God, (1 you will have Timothy 6:10)to . die to SEL and part with the things of the world – money, possessions, some friends/family, freedom, F etc. You will have to completely rely on God alone. Many will not be prepared! Or willing! Revelation 12:17 Though they say they are now

20

Revelation 13:4, “And they worshipped the drago which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like n unto the beast? who is able to make war with Many will follow the beast – they’ll justify it somehow! him?” The flesh does not want to be denied

He’ll show

Matthew 24:9-10, “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and wonders! ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.” Many will take the easy way Revelation 13:7, “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.” Those that worship the beast or receive his mark will taste God’s wrath and be tormented with fire and brimstone forever (Revelation 14:9-11).

Be prepared for the 1 Peter 4:1, “Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered forworst! us in the flesh, arm yourselves

The Bride will emerge:

Must rise above the flesh

likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath Ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.” It’s a time of sorting!

21

Daniel 12:9-10, “And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified , and made white, and tried ; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” Those that profess Christ will be tested (trial) in a most meaningful way Choose light or darkness. A choice for God will bring a separation from the darkness and probably will require suffering on your part. Purified as by fire! God will sustain some: Just like Noah in the ark, Israel in the wilderness, Elijah from Ahab, Daniel in the lion’s den, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace. Revelation 14:12, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that Keep the commandments of God, and the Faith of Jesus.” Obedience is a must! Revelation 3:10, “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will Keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try (trial) them that dwell upon the earth.” God will keep those who love and trust in Him and are obeying His gospel. Trial - Experience; suffering that puts strength, patience of faith to the test; afflictions or temptations that exercise and prove the graces or virtues of men.

The Bride will be glorious, without spot, wrinkle Left Behind? - No such thing as a pre-tribulation rapture! Read God’s Word no fairy tales or blemish

22

Many will die for Christ: You’ll be in good company!

Revelation 14:13

Revelation 7:13-14, “And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, This is God’s mercy! and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” To die for something meaningful! Perhaps you scoff at the idea that you will have to suffer or die for Christ. You need only consider what became of the twelve Apostles, Steven, Antipas, and Paul. You might also consider what befell the Church in Smyrna (Revelation Chapter 3), and the early Christians at the hands of the Roman Empire. Given white robes – Purity from sin (v11) Revelation 6:9-10, “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slainfor the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?White - purity; clean; free from spot; as white

Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the Second .” Fearful – People who are afraid of the opinions of man. death Fear God who can cast into Unbelieving – Those who do not trust God and those that are unfaithful in their lives. Idolaters – Allowing anything other than God priority in your heart- money, things, etc.

There is Hope!

Only for those who repent and yield to God

John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” To be born again, the old man has die!(old man) would be that self-willed, self-seeking, rebellious, sinful person that Thegotta old life does what is right in his own eyes. One determined to live according to his own will in a all opposition manner based upon his own fleshly desires. Submit to God! Laying down to God!

Ephesians 4:22-24, “That ye put off concerning the former conversation (life) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Colossians 3:3-4, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” 2 Corinthians 5:15, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again. Romans 6:4-6, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Dead w/Him = Live

“For he that is dead is freed fromw/Him sin.” (Romans “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” 6:7)

(Romans 6:12)

There is definitely a pattern here: He who has ears to hear!

25

Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” If you live as the world then you have not let go of the old John 12:24, “Verily, verily,man. I (Jesus) say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” Start producing God’s works! Death to self produces life in God Acts 26:20 Repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. You must serve God from your heart – you cannot serve from fear of punishment, hope of reward, compulsion or guilt. This would be counter-productive and unfruitful. Those that serve from the heart willingly follow Christ and there is no need for the law – it is written in their hearts! They serve in spirit The righteous desire to obey willingly! Romans 7:7 1 Timothy 1:9-10, “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any Do you follow when no one other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Losing your life for Jesus:

Take

Matthew 10:39, “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” Note! Matthew 16:25, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Live for self and die! Mark 8:35, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:24, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” Die to self and live! Luke 17:33, “Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.” John 12:25, “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”

A point is being made here!

We are to put aside our desires, ambitions, and control of things, and yield totally to God – lose our life. In doing so we will find it and secure it eternally! Jesus gives life more John 10:10

abundantly 27

Denying and Forsaking: Jesus often said: Come, Follow Me! Matthew 16:24, “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Repetitive verses – Mark 8:34, “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself,Take and takenote! up his cross, and follow me.” We are talking about sacrifice here! Luke 9:23, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

This is why there are few on the Take Luke 14:27, “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.” narrow Luke 14:33, “So likewise, whosoeverpath he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot heed: be my disciple.” Overcoming

sin (& Satan) daily

Nothing can take priority over God:

Commitment!

Luke 14:26, “If a man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Stop seeking rights, privileges, reputation, ambitions, interests, and your own way

Die to self – gain life with Christ: Serve now or don’t expect to

29

Do you love Jesus?

Romans 6:8, “Now if we be dead with Christ, later! we believe that we shall also live with him:” 2 Timothy 2:11, “It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:” Many profess Christ with their lips, and ask Him to be their Savior (From hell - not sin) but their hearts are far from him. Few will make Him their Lord – yielding their life to Him! It’s a question of obedience. Men love the darkness and will not come to the light. Mark 7:6, “He (Jesus) answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.” Hypocrite - One who expresses feelings, beliefs or virtues that he/she does not actually practice. Jesus told a parable about himself, Luke 19:14, “But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.” They will not surrender (obey) Jesus authority. The disobedient are enemies of Christ! John 13:13, “Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.” Or is He? Luke 6:46, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” So what happened to the disobedient in Christ’s parable? Luke 19:27, “But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slaythem before me.”

Here is your chance to

John 14:21, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and prove it! he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Obedience = Love 1 John 2:3-5, “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected; hereby we know we are in him.” Luke 6:46, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” James 1:22, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” I John 5:2-3, “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep (obey) his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” Do you see a pattern here? Hebrews 5:9, “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them Revelation 22:14, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may that obey him;” have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

Luke 11:28, “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”

30

What did Jesus say about… Worldliness

2 Timothy 2:4

I John 2:15-17, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is of the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: But he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Mark 4:19, “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.”

God’s Path Is To

1 John 5:4-5, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that Narrow overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God” Be unspotted by the world! James 1:27 2 Corinthians 6:17, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” It cannot be done! Matthew 6:24 You cannot serve the world and Christ! “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other…”

31

What do I do? If serving and obeying God is not your #1 objective in this life then you are unconverted and must repent. New Testament

Deuteronomy 13:4, “Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve Him, and cleave unto Him.”

Old Testament

Mark 12:30, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” To love is to Nothing hasobey! changed!

We now have the ability to accomplish this

Luke 5:32,Christ! “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to Jesus taught repentance:through

repentance.” Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye and believe the gospel.” Luke 13:3, “I (Jesus) tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 15:7, “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” (also read Matthew 4:17, 9:13, 11:20; and Mark 2:17, 16:30) Jesus said: Luke 24:47, “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. It’s not an option!

32

Isaiah 55:6-7, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him, while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy on him.” Supreme commitment to Christ Proverb 28:13, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” See your wickedness, ask God to change your heart! Ephesians 4:24

What Happens To Me After I Repent?

If you have sought God and truly repented, then

Col 3:10

Great Joy!

Newness of life!

2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Conformed to God’s will! The Lord regenerates (renews) us. We have new desires and affections. We serve from the heart, not out of compulsion. Our greatest delight is to know and do God’s will. Philippians 2:13, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

33

What About Grace?

Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Many will persist and say that their sinfulness is covered under God’s Grace. They’ll say that God’s unmerited grace allows them to sin and identify with the devil because it is a nature that cannot be overcome in this life. Grace is not given at the expense of Grace: Favorable influence of God in renewing the heart and restraining from holiness! sin. God’s help offered to us according to our present need. If we need to overcome sin, grace can endue us with sufficient power, If we need forgiveness, grace can forgive us. If we need to be faithful in a time of testing, grace can increase our faith. God’s grace is always sufficient for our every need. Titus 2:11-14, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity (sin), and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”  Romans 5:21, “That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” Only through

righteousness!

34

Any doctrine of grace that takes away the fear of sinning is a false gospel. The message must lead you to God, not away. If a doctrine enables you to sin lightly and to ask forgiveness cheaply, without the deep sorrow and extreme hatred for sin that true repentance brings, then you can be sure it is deception from Satan.

Some Ravening wolves in sheep’s

The grace that brings salvation clothing is not for those Guard your heart! wickedness and continuing inthen? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? Romans 6:15-16, What sinfulness! God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:17-18, “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” Take Heed! That no man

Have you been deceived about grace?

deceive you

Jude 1:4, “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” They are

everywhere! 35

You can always tell a false teacher by their flattering and popular speech. They will defend the darkness and lead you opposite of God. They quote scripture, but so does the devil. Their message will please the flesh (once saved always saved, pre-tribulation rapture escape, etc.). A true man of God will tell you the truth no matter how unpopular – He will lead you toward God (holiness, righteousness). Hebrews 12:14, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without Isaiah 30:9-10 which no man shall see the Lord:” Beware! 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, Matthew 7:15-16 1 John 2:29, “If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.” 1 John 1:6, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”

Read God’s Word! Many professed Christians have never read through the Bible! John 8:51, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”

Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee

John 8:31, “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Conclusion:

Jesus came to deliver you from sin. Will you part with it? Jesus did not come to justify you to continue sinning. The devil’s lie: You can sin and not die. Hebrews 10:26, “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,” Christ’s sacrifice was not for continued sinning. Proverb 3:7 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Jesus healed a man at the pool at Bethesda. John 5:14, “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” Should the man have told Jesus he could not stop sinning so he would just take the worse thing? Was Jesus misleading the man? God forbid. The Jews brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus. John 8:10-11, “When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” Jesus seemed to think that one could live Romans 12:9 without sin (through Him). Romans 8:14, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.” Proverb 15:3
