Working Rule: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Consider last digit of a given number. Multiply it by the corresponding osculaor. Add or subtract this product from the left out remaining number. Continue the same procedure till you gets a number for which we can check its divisibility by the given number.

Example: Is 2961 is divisible by 7? Solution: Osculator for 7 is –ve 2. Now, 2961x 2 296 – (1x 2) = 296 – 2 = 294 294x 2 29 – (4 x 2) = 29 – 8 = 21, which is clearly divisible by 7, hence the given number is also divisible by 7. Try it now: 1. Is 24167 is divisible by 13? 2. Is 957508 is divisible by 17?
