Introduction Within Microsoft Windows it is possible to amend the style of a number of options. Dialogue boxes are option windows that appear in order to provide additional information to the user (see figure 1). The appearance of dialogue boxes can be altered to make them more suitable for individual users.

Altering the appearance of dialogue boxes 1. Right click anywhere on your desk top and select Properties from the menu. Select the Appearance tab. 2. Select Advanced. From the drop-down Item menu select Message Box (see figure 2). 3. Use the drop-down menus to alter the font, font size and font colour (see figure 3). 4. Figure 4 shows a dialogue box with amended font size and style.
