Desktop Publishing- Definitions Portrait: description of a format which is deeper than it is wide. Landscape: description of a format which is wider than it is deep. Call out: a call out is a label used to identify parts of an illustration. Drop Caps: a large initial letter at the start of the text that drops into the line or lines of text below. Resizing: To change the horizontal and/or vertical dimensions of an image.
