SIGNS OF RECENT DELIVERY UTERUS IMMEDIATELY A.D. •
2 fingers below the umbilicus.
FUNDAL LEVEL
1 WEEK A.D. •

Midway between the umbilicus & symphysis pubis. (it reaches the symphysis 10 days after delivery).
2 WEEKS A.D. • •
Pelvic (at symphysis publis). It is difficult to determine the date of delivery with certainty as most of the signs of recent delivery disappear in 2 weeks.
6 WEEKS A.D. •
Original size as in any parous woman.
AT AUTOPSY 1 kg. WEIGHT 25 cm. LENGTH 10 cm. DIAMETER OF PLACENTAL SITE A.D. = (AFTER DELIVERY)
500 gm. 12 cm. 5 cm.
375 gm. 10 cm. 4 cm.
N.B. In nullipara, the uterus is 50 gm in weight & 6 cm long.
100 gm. 8 cm. 2 cm.
