Project Description: Design and implementation of a Management Information System linking the Ministry of Education with 5 Universities in Ulaanbaatar. The long-term objective was to provide an effective and efficient Management Information System (MIS) for multiple use by the Mongolian Higher Education Sector. Its short term objective was to implement a functioning infrastructure, both in terms of material and trained human resources, in order to achieve the creation of the Education Information System for multiple use, namely by the: Ministry (state planning, assessment and control) Universities (administration, functioning, Mongolian scientific community) and Researchers (exchange of information in Mongolia and abroad). The project organisation and methods provided for three district work components: Component A included the analysis, design and development of the MIS (more precisely, system analysis, design and implementation, application software development, equipment and system software specifications).
