Criteria A & Criteria B By Jai Sawhney Student of 7C

Question- list down all the components you have studied yet in class and describe about each component in detail with evidence List of components - Led light A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. An LED or IRED consists of two elements of processed material called P-type semiconductors and N-type semiconductors. These two elements are placed in direct contact, forming a region called the P-N junction

- DC motor The DC motor is a type of motor or power modulator. It takes the low current and then converts it into a high current which is appropriate for the motor. The DC motor also provides the high current torque, 400 % more than the rated continuous torque. The important applications of DC motor drives are rolling mills, paper mills, mine winders, hoists, machine tools, traction, printing presses, textile mills, excavators.

- Resistor Resistor is basic component that is used in all the electronic circuits. It is a passive element that resists the flow of electrons. Thus it allows only certain amount of current to pass through it. Remaining current is converted into heat.

- Wires a piece of) thin metal thread with a layer of plastic around it, used for carrying electric current

- Push button - Push buttons are simple power controlling switches of a machine or equipment. These are usually metal or thermoplastic switches that are designed to grant easy access to the operator. The motive of electric circuits is that the electricity must be able to flow uninterrupted through the various wires and components. However, circuits that are complete all the time aren’t as useful as ones that work only when we want them to.

- Slide switch Slide switches are mechanical switches defined by their method of Operation. In this switch there is a slider that moves(slides) from position to position linearly making it easy to ON/OFF circuit or as selector switch with a finger tip easily. Slide switch has a rectangle casing with a bar handle which slides from one position to another changing its state. to about 200 volts, which depends on the size of the switch

- Bread board A breadboard is a widely used tool to design and test circuit. You do not need to solder wires and components to make a circuit while using a bread board. It is easier to mount components & reuse them. Since, components are not soldered you can change your circuit design at any point without any hassle. It consist of an array of conductive metal clips encased in a box made of white ABS plastic, where each clip is insulated with another clips.

- Battery A battery is a hardware component that supplies power too a device, enabling that device to work without a power cord Batteries are often capable of powering a laptop computer for several hours depending on how much power it requires. Today, many high-end devices such as computer laptops and cell phones use rechargeable batteries that allow a user to recharge the battery once depleted of energy.

- Diode A Diode is the simplest two-terminal unilateral semiconductor device. It allows current to flow only in one direction and blocks the current that flows in the opposite direction. The two terminals of the diode are called as anode and cathode. The symbol of diode is as shown in the figure below. The characteristics of a diode closely match to that of a switch. An ideal switch when open does not conduct current in either directions and in closed state conducts in both directions. The characteristic of a diode is as shown in the figure below.
