In the Authentication method list, Choose the user Authentication method you want to use for your site. GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server supports three databases for authenticating user identity: GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server, NT Authentication, and ODBC Authentication. GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server Authentication does not rely on any outside sources for user information. Windows NT Authentication allows all users in the Windows NT User database to have access to the FTP site using their Windows user name, password and folder permissions. You must use the Windows NT/2000 User Manager to manage users, groups, and folder permissions. However, you can enable and disable user accounts as well as modify most of the user's FTP settings using the Administrator Interface. ODBC Authentication allows all users in an external ODBC database to have access to the FTP site. 13. Click Next. 14. In the Please type in path where site user database will be stored box, leave the default path, unless you want to store the authentication database in a new location, then type the path to the new location. 15. In the User list refresh interval list, select how often you want GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server to check the database for new users. 16. Click Next. 17. In the Please select a folder for the FTP root box, enter the path to the folder you want as the site's Default FTP Root Folder. You can also click the little yellow folder to browse to the folder you want. 18. Select the Create standard subfolders... check box to automatically create Bin, Pub, Usr and Incoming folders with appropriate permissions under the root folder.

19. Select the Enable Anonymous access to the FTP server... check box to create an anonymous account that does not require a password. The account will have limited permissions. 20. Select the Auto assign home folders to site users check box to automatically create a user folder under \Site Root\Usr\[username] when a user is added. This is particularly beneficial if you have chosen to use an ODBC data source and are allowing numerous users access to the server. 21. Click Finish. If you have not created the folder you chose in step eight, a box appears asking if you want the folder created. 22. Click Yes.
