CPT Wireless Network Configuration Guideline Follow the directions below to configure your CPT laptop to use the Lucent IT wireless network. In order to successfully login, you will need to have your RSA SecurID available, as well as have WLAN services at your location and building area. 1. Left click Start, Settings, Network Connections, Right click over Wireless Network Connection and Left click Properties. 2. The Wireless Network Connection Properties window appears. Left click the Wireless Networks tab on the top. 3. Uncheck the “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings” box at the top, as shown below. Then click OK.

4. Left click Start, Programs, ThinkVantage, Access Connections. You should see the following window appear.

5. In the upper left hand corner, left click Locations and then Create New Profile. You should see the following window appear.

6. In Field 1, enter a name to identify the profile (example: Lucent). This name does not affect the wireless configuration. 7. Field 2 should remain at the default of Best Available Network 8. Field 3 should remain at the default of having both adapters checked with the wired connection listed first (higher priority), as shown above.

9. Click Next to continue. You should see the following window appear.

10. In Field 1, enter LWA 11. In Field 2, leave connection type as Infrastructure. 12. In Field 3, leave Wireless mode as Auto. 13. In Field 4, choose “Use IEEE 802.1x Authentication” from the drop-down list.

Your screen should now look like the following.

14. Left click the Properties button below Field 4. You should see the following window appear.

15. Using the drop-down list, select WPA2 for Access point authentication. 16. Verify that the Data encryption is set to AES. 17. Using the drop-down list, set EAP type to PEAP. 18. In the Tunneled Authentication box, confirm that the Authentication protocol is set to GTC. 19. Uncheck the “Validate server certificate” checkbox. The window should now look like this:

20. In the Tunneled Authentication box, left click the Enter User Credentials button. You should see the following window appear.

21. In the “User Name and Password Settings” box, left click the radio button “Use one time token (password)”. Then enter your handle in the User name field. Click OK. 22. Click OK in the 802.1x Settings window. 23. Click Next in the ThinkVantage Access Connections window.

24. A new window should appear as shown below. You should not need to change anything in this window. Verify that all the settings are as shown, and then click Finish.

25. A dialog box will appear asking if you want to apply the profile. Click Yes.

26. The following window will appear. If you are within range of the IT supported wireless network, in the Token field, enter your RSA SecurID PIN and token code and click OK. If you are not in range click Cancel.

27. If you successfully login, you should see the following window.

Congratulations! You are now on the corporate network.
