Countable Nouns Countable Nouns are the Nouns which can be counted (e.g. one apple, two apples etc.)and can be in singular or plural. We put a before the singular noun when it begins with consonant sound( b, d, p etc) and an when it begins with vowel sound ( a, e, I, o. u )

Uncountable Nouns Uncountable Nouns are the Nouns which can not be counted and usually they don’t have plural. These nouns include: 1. Food: Cheese, butter, meat, salt, bread. Etc 2. Liquids: Water, rain, juice, tea, milk. Etc 3. Material: Gold, iron, silver, wood. Etc. 4. Abstract Noun: Beauty, Love, Happiness. Etc

a/an, Some We use Some with uncountable Nouns and not a/an. We also use some with countable Nouns but only in plural. Examples: Some Bananas Some Cheese

Quantifier

A quantifier, as its name shows, expresses quantity. Quantifiers can be a single word or a phrase and are used with nouns. They can be used with both a countable or an uncountable noun to express amount or quantity. Example: Some, much, many, few, little, a lot, half, three, etc

Rules of some Some is used to show an indefinite quantity, the exact number is not important. It is used in affirmative statements. Example: - I have some books.- She wants some apples. Some is also in questions, but only when you think the answer will be "Yes". For example:- Do you have some paper? (I hope the answer is "Yes")- Would you like some french fries? ( I expect the anwer is "Yes")

Rules of any Any is used in negative statements. For example:- I don't have any money.- There aren't any taxis near here. Any is also generally used in questions, especially when we expect the answer to be "No". for example:- Do you have any paper? (I expect the answer will probably be "No")- Is there any time to go to the doctor's? ( I think there probably isn't time).
