The Institute of Government and Public Affairs and Jane Addams Hull House Association are pleased to present this event to remember the 40th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

The Next Forty Years of Fair Housing: Developing an Agenda for Integration for the 2lst Century

This event is free of charge and is open to all interested individuals and agencies. Pre-registration is required by e-mail at [email protected], or by phone at 866-794-3340 or 217-333-3340. Student Center East (SCE) at the UIC campus is located at 750 S. Halsted. The SCE is on the west side of Halsted Street just south of Harrison Street and north of Taylor Street about one mile west of downtown Chicago. It is l-l/2 blocks south of the CTA Blue Line’s UIC-Halsted station. Visitor parking is available directly across Halsted Street from SCE in the UIC parking structure.

The year 2008 marks 40 years since the passage of the Fair Housing Act of l968. The Act protects individual rights and fosters residential integration. This forward-looking conference will focus on research, policies, and programs that move beyond antidiscrimination enforcement to examine the other barriers to integration. Researchers, policymakers, and community leaders from universities, government, and non-profit organizations will attend this conference and work towards an action agenda for the
