Project Rice Productivity Enhancement
Activities to be completed Mechanisation: • Settlement of the claims of the machines purchased • Around 10% of the physical target in distributing the machines • Remaining 5 demonstrations of machines (which can be done only during the cropping season June – October 2006). Participatory Technology Development: • Results of field trials are to be mapped and reports are to be compiled.

Integrated Farming System
Likely month of Completion According to the Agri. department, Physical activities are to be completed by Oct 20 06.
According to KAU, the component will extend till Oct-2006 in order to facilitate trials in the farmers’ fields to arrive at an authentic report for further recommendation.
Demonstration: • Third year component to be completed August 2006 in all the 160 plots. Model farms: Out of 4175 plots to be identified for implementation in the two blocks, 605 farms to be surrendered and the balance 3570 farms to be completed by October – 06. • Organisation of SHGs and training component (can be done only after the October 06 physical implementation of model farm units). • The documentation of success stories October 06 (to be done after the completion of the project). • The labour saving farm mechanisation component (assessment of requirement, tender procedures, purchase, etc. are yet to pick up momentum).
