_

On 5/28/99, Courtney Van Dell, DOB 9/16/83, 6463 West Canyon Avenue, Littleton, Colorado, was advised of the identity of the interviewing Agents, and the nature and purpose of the interview. She was interviewed in the presence of her Attorney, Kalman Elinot!, and ber Mother and Father, Solie and Gregg Van Dell. She provided the following information, Courtney is in her freshman year at Columbine High School, and attended Columbine until 4/14/99, Her parents withdrew her from columbine on the aforementioned date because she was having conflicts with both the staff and students at the school. Courtney was at home on 4/20/99, the day of the Columbine incident. She later learned of the incident from viewing news reports on television, While she was still attending Columbine, she did associate with alleged Trench Coat Mafia (TCM) members and associates. She stated that she befriended them because they were different than most of the other students, not unlike herself. She associated with Chris Morris on a semi regular basis at school. She and Chris compared poet~f that they had written, and often spoke of their views on life. They also spoke of being different that the res~ of the students, and the harassment that they were botb getting at school. Some of the harassment included haVing focd thrown at her, as well as verbal abuse such as being called "Satan", She attributed this to the fact that she used to wear a set of horns to school. A teacher had also complained about Courtney's appearance to the Dean of students, Mr. Horvath. The teacher told Horvath that Courtney's mode of dress was distracting while trying to teach_ Chris Morris had a lot of anger pent up inside due to the harassment and non acceptance at school_ Courtney actually thought that Morris ironically had a superior attitude reference himself in comparison to other students. Morris never spoke of guns, bombs or any plans that he or others had that may have been similar to the assault chat occurred on 4/20/99. Although they were called the TCM, Courtney rarely saw any of the students wearing trench coats. In fact, she believes that the TCM basically split up during the past school year.

She had second period free, and would go to Chris Morris' house to "hang out" during the free period. On at least one occasion, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were also at Morris' residence. The conversation was casual, and they didn't talk about guns, bombs or plans of an assault on the school. courtney thought that both Eric and Dylan were nice and polite. There was however some discussion of harassment that they were all going through, and some casual talk of revenge, but nothing really serious. She couldn't remember specifics of this conversation, but again stated that it was nothing serious. Since 4/20/99, Courtney has had no contact with any of the TCM or associates. She did see a girl named Kristen (LNU)wno was an associate, working at the AMe 24 movie complex, but only said hello. Another individual named Brian (LNU) who was an associate was also working at the AMC 24 and only said hello. She has talked to other friends since the incident, to include a girl named Michelle Schott. Michelle told Courtney that she thought that she saw a man on the roof of the school on 4/20/99, in a white t-shirt possible throwing bombs from the roof. Courtney uses the Internet, and has several screen names. Some of her screen names include Poet 83, and Gothic Fly. Her Internet servioe is AOL, and she rarely uses chat rooms. Vedp"nia said that the only people who were attacked by the clothing in the video were Harrisand Klebold. He. ; that the only people in the video or who assisted in the production, editing or filming of the video are Eric Harris Dylan Klebold and Eric Viek. I asked Vedegnia what part he played in the video. Vedegnia said that he had a short part where he entered several rooms and found a person (Eric Vlek) unconscious and had to carry him out. Vedegnia said that he only played that small part and was responsible for the editing of the video. i asked Vedegnia where the video was filmed. He said that they filmed the video at Columbine High School. I asked him what type of weapons or guns they used in the filming of the video. Vedegnia said that they had used "simulated guns." WITNESS Vendegnia, Michael J. 1-28·81 7604 S. Depew Littleton, Co, 303979-7269

Narrative: On 5-14-991 spoke with Vendegnia regarding his knowledge/participation in a conversation with Veik regarding any "tesf' or opinions of the security at Chatfield HS. Vendegnia denied any knowledge of any such conversation with Veik or anyone since the 4-20-99 incident. Vendegnia stated that he did know Ungerland, Veik and Romanysyn but said that Thomas and Dressel were unfamiliar 10 him. Vendegnia ai, denied any knowledge of a biack video bag or any plan to use road flares bound together as dynamite.

Vendegnia was then asked about Harris and KJebold. He said that he knew who Klebold was but had no real contact with him and to his knowledge did not have him in any of his classes, Vendegnia has known Harris thru school for 3-4 years and most recently has had Harris in his 2nd hour video productions class both semesters of this school year. Klebold was in the 3"' hourvideo class, Vendegnia described Harris a always nice, laughed and joked and was never aggressive. Harris has wom a black duster type coatfor tl" last 3-4 years and wore it almost everyday. Vendegnia has known Harris' friends to be Klebold. Zack Heckler, and Chris Morris. The only social contact he had With Harris was the filming of the various videos Ons was a spoof of the show "Cops" where Vendegnia was both an actor and the editorand the otherwas the .dioactive Clothes" where he again was an actor and the editor, The story of the "Cops" video was; oollaboratlve effort between Harris, Veik and Vendegnia, The story for 'Radioactive Clothes" was Harris' idea. Vendegnia had seen private footage that Harris had shot in the mountains where Harris, Kiebold, tw males (one with long black hair and the atherwith brown/blond hair and glasses) and one female were firir weapons at trees and a bowling pin. Vendegnia did not know where the footage was shot or exactly when this occurred except that he had seen it about2-3 months ago in the video class. Vendegnia had no Idea Harris and Klebolds plans and really saw nothing disturbing with the videos that they made. Vendegnia dl' recall that on 4-19-99 Vendegnia, Romanysyn, Ryan Seacrest(?), and Vince Pheins were filming a video iI the school hallway and encountered Harris sitting in the hall. When asked if he wanted to participate Harr said "no" and that he was studying or working on something for the next day. Vendegnia further told me that he was home sick on 4-20-99 and had thought aboutgoing in after lunch until he saw what was happening on the TV. He had 4th hour Introduction to Windows and 5th hour Government and Economics with a lunch after the 4111 hour class which would have put him in the cafeteria at 1110 hours, No further information.

with a friend of hers by the name of Thea Allen to go to Einstein's Bagel Shop in the Chanson Plaza, at West Bowles Avenue and South Wadsworth Blvd. Mollie Weksler said they were gone for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. She said while they were exiting the school to go to Einstein's, they exited on the west side of Columbine High School near the library, and she said she did not see any suspicious people nor did she see any suspicious items. Mollie said when they tried to return to Columbine for the remainder of their classes for that day, they were unable to do so due to the police presence in the area of Columbine High Schoo1.

Mollie Weksler said she was not in the cafeteria ofColumbine High School at all on 04-20-99 Mollie Weksler said she has her third hour class with Dylan Klebold. She said that although Eric Harris was not in this class, he would come in all the time anyway to see Dylan Klebold.

Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris outside of Columbine High School in the north senior parking lot sitting on Eric Harris' Carhood. RE: CONTROL #2619 TELEPHONE INTERVIEW: WILSON, Benjamin M. (DOB:021882) 6357 SouthGray Court Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 730-1958 Investigative lead of student "ditching" from Columbine High School on 04-20-99. 05-10·99/12:lOpm Ben WILSON confirmed he had not attended his morning classes at Columbine High School on April 20,1999. He explained that he does not havea first hour class, and did not attendhis World History class during the second period, nor his Gym class during third period. He further explained that he had provided his friend, Brandon Bronson, a ride to BurtChevrolet that morning as he was having an ignition put in his CIIl'. He said he learned of what had occurred at the school afterwards, and thus did not return to his afternoon classes. Bensaid he had not heard anything of the pending assault, buthad mer Eric Harris last year in a class they had together. He described him only by saying, "Eric was not crazy back then." I then telephoned Ben Wilson's mother, Sharon Wilson. She provided a similar account of Ben's absence from schoolthat day. She added that Ben is good friends with Brandon Bronson, and that they wereretrieving Brandon's car from the repair shopwhen the incident occurred at Columbine High School.

In an effortto confirm this account I contacted BurtChevrolet and spokewith Rick Jones, of their Service Department Jones independently confirmed that on April 20, 1999 they had released a 1990Chevrolet Caroaro afterhaving instailed an ignition switch with the customer name listedas "Russ Bronson." He said their records however did not indicate whom had accepted the car as the signature was illegible, nor do they keep records of the time of day vehicles are released. "RussBronson" is listed on the Student Information Card as theparent of Brandon Bronson. CN#2586 lead of Brandon Bronson's absence was also cleared as related.
