SOME OTHER FACTS Dissolved Solids is the sum total of all the dissolved substances in the water (all natural water has hundreds of trace elements). Examples in Pump Water Silica Calcium Sodium Chloride Magnesium Potassium 110mg/L is the same as 110 parts per million (= 0.011% = not much) The largest single constituent is silica at 76mg/L ( about 70% of the total 110mg/L). This is because the aquifer runs through old marine sedimentary rock, which is largely made up of silica diatom shells. The 5 declared ones (calcium etc...) make up another 20.3 mg (19%). The remaining 11-12% is a large number of substances in small quantities. We test for a few hundred important ones that are of health or quality significance, many of which are below the detection limits of the best test techniques. We use an independent specialist lab to do these tests, as we don't have the expertise ourselves - We do not distil any of our water (Still or carbonated water). Distilled water is when all minerals have been filtered out. - Bottled water, such as Kiwi Blue and Pump, is different in that it is taken from an untreated natural spring then filtered and ozonated to remove impurities and odors which may be present. - We monitor the source of Pump & Kiwi Blue water for minerals, compounds, salts, and a score of other things on a regular basis. The levels of these are less than 1/1000th of the reported trace elements listed on the label. The levels are monitored to ensure they comply with those recommended by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority. Spring Water contains natural fluoride. When the water travels through the rocks it infiltrates in with the water. We don't use fluoride in our cleaning process. Max allowed level: 1.5mg / L Deepspring level: 0.5mg / L We use Auckland municipal water for CSD products (except for Deep Spring carbonated range which contains trace fluoride) Auckland water typically contains 0.9 parts per million (ppm) fluoride.

Our treatment process passes water through activated carbon which removes approximately one third of this, leaving about 0.6 ppm in the water used to make beverages.
