Countryside Jobs Service Monthly Also visit: www.countryside-jobs.com Ray Valley Restoration Project Officer Salary: £18,600 per annum 35 hours per week Permanent contract Based at College Lake Nature Reserve, near Tring The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing 79 nature reserves, influencing land management across the 3 counties and actively working to educate and encourage all sectors of the community to care for local wildlife. The Ray Valley Project Area, on the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire border, is one of the last remaining strongholds for threatened wading birds and traditional floodplain meadows in England. BBOWT, RSPB and the Environment Agency are working together and with local farmers and landowners to conserve wildlife across the entire river catchment. The Project Officer will be required to manage habitat improvements and general maintenance tasks on reserves within the project area working with existing site staff. The successful candidate will also be required to provide advice and practical support to private landowners and to take forward the promotion locally of BBOWT’s work on the Ray Valley Restoration Project. Applicants should have proven practical conservation management skills, at least 2 years of relevant field experience and ideally specialist knowledge of wetland habitats.
