1(a).TYPES OF SOAPS Basically all soaps are made by boiling fats or oils with suitable soluble hydroxide. Variations are made by using different raw materials. Some of the soaps are: •

Toilet soaps:
These soaps are prepared by using better grades of fats and oils and care is taken to remove excess alkali. Colour and perfumes are added to make these more attractive.
Toilet soap in solid form is the subject of this invention which contains 0.01 to 10% by weight of a natural or a synthetic polymeric thickener to impart to the soap improved processability, texture, humectancy, and lather quality and quantity.
