Statement of the problem The cost is a major part of the production concern. Poultry farms play a major role in the Indian economy. The demand for the study is analysis of cost control on Poultry farms. 2.1The Methodology: Methodology is the back bone of the project work. It involves the ways and means by which the researcher selects his periods, sources of data, Methods of data collection, various analytical tools used for the studying the objective in view.

2.1.1 Research Design: The primary research is descriptive in nature. Descriptive research is appropriate since it helps in identifying the new opportunities present in the decision situation and it also serves as a step towards further research activity. The study is aimed at identifying the reduction of cost towards further improvement in the production.

SOURCES OF DATA: The study is based on secondary data and covers a period of five years from 2000-01 to

2006-07. Annual reports of the Shanthi poultry farm Private ltd for seven years are the only source of data.

2.1.3 Data Collection 2.1.3.1 Primary Data The primary data was collected through observation of the job process and interaction with the financial and marketing managers. The availability and future needs were analyzed.

2.1.3.2 Secondary Data The data about the company and the topic was collected from documents and web sites through published annual reports. 2.1.3
