Certificate of good standing California secretary of state A certificate of good standing (also known as a certificate of existence or certificate of authorization) is a document issued by a US state official stating a corporation or LLC is in existence or authorized to transact business in the state, has complied all statutory requirements, and has paid all the statutory dues, taxes, and penalties. The certificate of good standing provides information like the company name, company number, date of incorporation, and information as to filing of annual reports etc. One page document provided by the California Secretary of State is the conclusive evidence of the formation of business which can be valid up to three months.
