PREFACE
Praise be to God the compiler for the presence of God Almighty, For with His grace so that this Critical Book Review can be solved on time. The purpose of preparing this Critical Journal Report is one of the points of assessment that can be used as one of the handles in the teaching and learning course of Selected Topics In Mathematics, as well as with the hope to motivate the author so as to understand all the discussions and applications related to the learning.
Thank you to the lecturer of the Selected Topics In Mathematics Mr. Mangaratua M. Simanjorang, M.Pd., Ph.D., for his guidance, so that the authors really expect criticism and suggestions that are constructive for the improvement of this Critical Book Review. Finally, the authors hope that Critical Book Review can be useful for the wider community, especially students who want to make referrals.

CHAPTER 1 PRELIMINARY 1.1.
Background One component of the learning system that plays an important role in the achievement of Competency Standards (SK) and Basic Competence (KD) is a textbook. The textbook is a book-shaped work in a particular field, which is a standard book used by teachers and students in the learning process for instructional purposes and objectives, complemented by harmonized teaching tools and easily understood by the wearer in the schools and universities so as to support the teaching program. With the textbook is as a medium in teaching and learning activities in school becomes more smoothly and effectively. The main subjects in the mathematics subject are Polynomials, Conical Cuts, TwoRing Sections, Statistics, Function Limit (Trigonometry), Trigonometric Function Derivatives, Function Down Applications.
1.2.
Formulation of Problem 1. How to write a concept / definition on the textbook of mathematics interest in publishers erlangga and yudhistira? 2. How is the depth of explanation of concepts and principles in mathematics textbooks in the interest of publishers erlangga and yudhistira? 3. How are the similarities and differences in the content of mathematics textbooks interested in publishers erlangga and yudhistira? 4. How is the completeness and variation of the problem in textbooks of mathematics interest in publishers erlangga and yudhistira? 5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of the mathematics textbooks interested in publishers erlangga and yudhistira?
4
1.3.
Purpose 1. Knowing the difference of writing the concept / definition on the mathematics textbooks of publishers request erlangga and yudhistira. 2. Knowing the depth of explanation of concepts and principles in textbooks of mathematics interest in publishers erlangga and yudhistira. 3.
Knowing the similarity and difference of content in textbook of mathematics of interest of publisher of erlangga and yushidtira.
4. Knowing the completeness and variation of the problems in textbooks mathematics interest publisher erlangga and yudhistira. 5. Determine which book is more easily understood to be used in the learning process of teaching mathematics courses of demand groups.

CHAPTER II DISCUSSION 2.1.
Introduction / Early Illustration As an Introduction to Concepts / Definitions (Similar) In the textbook that I criticized the textbook of mathematics interest class XI Erlangga and Yudhishthira. From the textbook of mathematics specialization class XI Erlangga publish contains a preliminary explanation in the "Inspiration" which explains directly in the form of its application in each chapter. While the textbook of mathematics special interest class VI Yudhistira published preliminary described in detail along with the application.
2.2.
Differences in Writing Concepts (Definitions), Similar to the two books In the mathematics textbook of Erlangga's publication, the writing of the concept / definition is written using the phrase "is" and "is" in a box for the reader to know exactly where the meaning of the material is. In the mathematics textbook of Yudhistira publication, the concept / definition not in all material uses the word "is" and "is" and there is material which does not include its real definition. But there is material that writes the definition of the material in the form of a mathematical sentence such as chapter 4 (statistics) page 90 and page 95 and formulas.
2.3.
Depth explanation of concept / definition (similar) from both books In the textbook of mathematics specialization Erlangga issue, the depth of explanation defenisinya directly concluded the definition and concept without introduction definition as the opinion of experts or exemplify in the application of life. In the mathematics textbook of Yudhishthira publication, the depth of his explanation must have the provision of the material before it has

understood the previous material, then be clarified with the next material by illustrating it in formulas and drawings. 2.4.
Introduction / Early illustration as an introduction to the theorem / properties (similar) to both books In the mathematics textbook of interest in Erlangga, there is an introduction to the theorem as clarified first definition as chapter 1 (Polynomial) page 49. In the mathematical textbook of Yudhishthira's publication, there are no early illustrations in the theorem / trait (such as applications in life, etc.), but there is a chapter that illustrates the beginning of his theorem using "mathematical solutions" such as Chapter 1 (Polynomial) on page 16 Time Theorem.
2.5.
The similarities and differences of the various principles / theorems / propositions / properties discussed in both books In the mathematics textbook of interest in Erlangga and Yudhishthira, both books have similarities in the explanation of their theoretical concepts, but these two books have differences in the writing of theorem explanations as in the erdangga editions using the language of mathematical concepts, whereas in Yudhistira publications use a common language.
2.6.
Depth of explanation of principle / theorem / proposition / nature discussed both books In the textbook of mathematics specialization Erlangga publish, the depth of explanation theoremanya little. In the mathematics text of Yudhistira's publication, the depth of theoretical explanation includes several theorems in each subchapter not just one theorem, one of which there are several theorems described in
7
chapter 7 (Application of derivative functions) on pages 181, 183. And in this book the explanation of the theorem more deeply. 2.7 Completed and varied practice questions of both books In the mathematics textbook of interest in Erlangga publications, the completeness and variation of the problem because it is more efficient because it is contained in each sub chapter has varying exercise questions in the form of multiple choice and essay. In the mathematics textbook of Yudhistira publication, the completeness and variation is efficient because there are exercises in each sub-section only the sub sections of the exercises are essay, but at the end bab terdapat soal akhir yang memuat pilihan berganda dan essay. 2.8
Disadvantages or advantages of both books Disadvantages in textbooks Mathematics Specialization Yudhistira Publishers 1. There are no student worksheets in specializing group assignments for students. 2.
In the case of comparative table of contents, the book of yudhistira publishers only a few sub-sections.
3. Depth of material is only explained in general, not much matter in deep Advantages of textbooks Mathematics Specialization Yudhistira Publishers : 1. Learning materials that will be studied require to understand other learning materials or before. To have students really understand the material during the lesson. 2.
Introduction described in detail along with its application. There are no student worksheets in specializing group assignments for students.

3. If in the comparative of the table of contents, the book publisher yudhistira only a few sub-sections. 4.
Depth of material is only explained in general, not much matter in deep

CHAPTER III FINALLY 3.1
Conclusion Based on the advantages and disadvantages of the book from both sources of Mathematics Specialization Erlangga and Yudhistira Publish, the book is easy to understand is the book Erlangga because the language of the book that conveyed the author can be understood, moreover variations of the many and efficient questions contained in it matter of choice Doubles and Essays in each Subchapter. Clarify the important things by using colored boxes so as not to make it hard for the reader to review them.
3.2
SUGGESTION Thus, after the criticism I made, I hope that this criticism can be useful for teachers to choose books that are easy to understand and efficient in their learning.
