Capacity Planning purpose Critical to the success of a Sprint planning session, a team estimates the total number of “ideal hours” it has available to work on sprint-related tasks.

What are ideal hours?

Whose on vacation? Ask each team member if they Are going to miss any time during the sprint. I’m out all week baby!

How many are on the team? Determine the total number of People you will have available To work on sprintrelated tasks

Let’s see…… 5 people, times 4 ideal hours, times 10 days in a sprint, minus 25 hours for vacation equals 175 hours capacity!!!!

Step #4 So, what’s our capacity? Calculate the total number of productive hours # team members x # productive hours x # days in the sprint
