Datamatics People Policy as a PCMM 5 organization played a major role in cutting down attrition rate drastically and making recruiters more candidate friendly actually helped in combating “No Shows”. policy of collecting academic and identification papers in original from the candidate and does not forward any resume to clients unless those are collected. As a typical case where CSC needed 30 Mainframe resources for its AT&T project. Time frame to get all the resources was 3 weeks. SAP Rollout
CLIENT: HLL About the company Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL), 51.6% subsidiary of Unilever Plc, is the largest FMCG Company in the country, with a turnover of USD 2.5B. The company has a dominating market share in most categories that it operates in such as toilet soaps, detergents, skincare, hair care, color cosmetics, etc. It is also the leading player in food products such as packaged tea, coffee, ice cream and other culinary products.
Business Process HLL owns around 1300 brands with around 10000 product ranges, which it markets through the chain of dealer/ retailers called RS (Redistribution Stockiest), who are catered from the various C&FA network spanned throughout the country. RS places the order through the portal and is supplied from the depots / Factories which are the sales points. These products are sourced from the 2P and 3P vendors apart from the own factories of HLL. HLL operates through the COP (Central Order Processing) office in Chennai, which processes the order received from the RS and also is responsible for the allocation of the stock, and placing the sourcing projection to the factories.
Project Synopsis The scope of this project is to meet the increasing needs of HLL by adopting an enhanced and advanced technology based ERP to facilitate its process. HLL opted SAP to supplement its older ERP package MFG-PRO. According to the business and operations, HLL implemented SAP R/3 modules like SD, MM, FI-CO, WMS, BIW, APO and SOLUTION MANAGER. IBM/Datamatics carried out the implementation across all the Branches and Sales points, namely Depots and Factories. The Customization and Configuration was done on the basis of the previous ERP – MFG-PRO and care has been taken to fulfill the Business needs and requirements of HLL.

Project: WEBdynpro based Project Management tool integrating SAP backend with a user-friendly Enterprise Portal The Company needs a user-friendly enterprise portal, with some of SAP PS functionalities. The portal should interact with SAP R/3 back end, to display and edit the functionalities and thereby help the end user avoid R/3’s intricacies on direct log-on. The portal should have the look and feel of MS Project. The data to be made available on the screen should be sourced from SAP transactions. The Project Manager who logs into his homepage should be able to access the data and edit it wherever applicable. Thereby he will be able to control the resource allocation part of the project and observe its progress.

Solution: Based on the client’s requirements, Datamatics has developed a solution using Webdynpro .The portal which will be displayed via a link in the customer internal website will have all the data and interactions necessary for the client • • • • • •
•
The data to be displayed and edited will be sourced from SAP back end Tables, Structures and Functional Modules. The import and export fields in the Functional modules will be marked for all relevant data and this will be utilized for front end data management. The front end will be developed with Webdynpro JAVA For fields with no existing Tables, temporary tables may be created to store data The GANTT chart will be displayed in the Webdynpro by hard coding it with the data available on screen Screen level validations will be given to ensure the data that is being entered to the back end will be error free. Upon encountering an error during updating, the whole process will be terminated. Once a project is loaded in the front end the same will be locked out for editing in the back end. It will be available for viewing though.
Benefits: • • • • • • •
A solution, which can be marketed as an integrated package, simplifying the various functionalities of SAP PS and thereby minimizing effort spent on understanding them. The product can be linked to the company’s existing internal portal server. The project manager can control his projects by sitting anywhere in the world. Performance of the system improves, as the user doesn’t have to run heavy SAP routines. Each and every transaction code needn’t be memorized by the user As the actual product is a portal, it will be accessible from anywhere in the world through a URL. As the product is a stand alone it will increase the performance of the whole system as it avoids direct logons.
