Composed for chorus, vocalists, orchestra, organ Bach composed a cantata every week for the readings. Cantata text is related to the readings/gospel and is a sermon in music Cantata is around 25 minutes long and had several different movements including: o Choruses (choir, ensemble, SATB), Recitative (half spoken, half sung, solo interlude), Aria (a solo song, accompaniment) and Duets.
